Played with Kaylee. Sun came out, and I walked on my feet and heard with my ears. I ate the bits, the bits stayed down, and I work. I function like I'm a girl. I hate it because I know it'll go away. The sun goes dark and chaos has come again. Bits. Fluids. What am I?!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Me too!

I don't think I properly appreciated Russell's costume from the Bollywood number the first time, so I am very glad I got to see it again.

I am also looking forward to the Ovation extras for S7, even though I didn't love the season as a whole.

I would love DVDs of any of those! I had used some program to download from YouTube some of my favorites from Season 2 and 3, but forget how I did it and haven't done the other seasons. I have them on my iphone.

I wish I could figure out how to get stuff off my DVR.

Yeah, it is annoying that I have to program mine like a vcr, but I love that I can edit within a program at will with one or two clicks, and then easily put episodes together in playlists and record back and forth from the hard drive to DVD. So the dances are back-to-back and take about an hour.

I don't think I can improve the quality by recording at a higher level at this point, so let me know if you want me to add anything to fill the other 5 hours on the DVD.

Options include:
BBC Macbeth (2h30)
BBC Sherlock 1-3 (4 hours)
BBC Any Human Heart 1-3 (4 hours)
BBC Upstairs, Downstairs redux 1-3 (2h30)
The Royal Wedding (1h30)

Are you seeing a theme? Really I record non-British things sometimes.

Okay, not really. Or, at least, I don't save them.

I have a few operas (The Met's "Nixon in China" at 3 hours and "Lucia di Lammermoor" at 2h30). Also, a whole bunch of "No Reservations" that I haven't added to DVD yet, including the Western North America epsiodes, Eurasia, Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Oceania.

Just let me know. It's easy and quick to do.

No, but your Anglophilia reminds me I want to watch Downton Abbey, which I didn't do when it was on.

My old TiVo recorded DVDs, but if it was possible to just do portions of episodes, I never figured out how.

Oh, I would love a copy of the DVD. I have been HOOKED on Ovations reruns of Season 6.

Sadly, I do not get Ovations.

Okay, I'm planning CDs for Amy, Perkins, Suzi, and Meara so far.

No, but your Anglophilia reminds me I want to watch Downton Abbey, which I didn't do when it was on.

I also have all 4 episodes of Downtown Abbey if you want that separately. It's 5h20 minutes so it's pretty much its own DVD.

My old TiVo recorded DVDs, but if it was possible to just do portions of episodes, I never figured out how.

Omnis sent me this when I moved because he was upgrading to HD and I needed a dvr. But now I hope it never dies because I don't think new ones do everything this one does.

Basically, I can put it into edit mode while watching a show and just press "start" at the beginning of a cut and "end" at the end and then cut out whatever I want.

Like with old vcrs, I can record on higher quality but then only 2hrs fit on a DVD. And I'd have a lot less room on the dvr.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

So I just caught up on the first two episodes of this season's Top Shot and I must say I am pissed but unsurprised that they kicked off the two women in the first two eps. Oh well.

Man, some of those dancers really were just superb, weren't they? All my criticisms of the show aside, they really do produce/encourage/get to some excellent talent there.

Ooh! Yes please. And I should be in your city in October, or possibly sooner.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Do you all think Ashleigh and Ryan would have made it into the finale if she hadn't gotten hurt (and he hadn't been so cute about people voting for her)?

Some thoughts on Kat's fantasy SYTYCD roster

Blake - Gorgeous dancer. His Body Language solo is still one of the best ever!!

I still can't believe he didn't win. I loved Nick and Melody (their paso, broadway, even their disco), but when it came down to the end I thought Blake should have taken it.

Artem - One of the best ballroom kids ever on the show.

I love Pasha as a dancer, but he has such a doofus face. And variety would be nice.

Kamilah - She killed it on everything and was sex on a stick! She could give good disco.

Too true. Really, even way back then they had some great dancers.

Ivan - I really enjoyed him as an All Star this season, more than I even thought I would. I didn't care for him much in S2 out of his style, but I always thought he was a sick hip hop dancer.

Ivan and Allison are probably my favorite couple ever, even if he wasn't very good in the beginning. Their second Argentine tango remains a high point for me. That's right, people, back in the day you could believe people picked dances out a hat and the same couple could get tango twice.

Natalie - She murdered everything given to her on her season. Joyous girl to watch. And towards the end of her season, she was dancing basically on one leg, knee totally busted up. Just a warrior.

Between Allison & Ivan, Benji & Donyelle, Travis & Heidi, and Natalie & Musa, S2 was really fun to watch.

Heidi - The original Fug Princess, she was an amazing partner and just grew and grew on the show. She'd really help non-ballroom boys do passable to great ballroom routines.

I didn't like her at first either, but "Black Mambo" will always be one of my favorite dances ever on this show. Along with this...

Donyelle and Benji's Too Much Booty is still one of my favorite hip hop routines on the show ever! Sigh. I miss real hip hop on this show, y'all.

Such a shame that Alex Da Silva and Shane Sparks had to be such fuckups.

Season 3 had great dances and dancers, but I didn't have any real favorites, except Sara, who wasn't very strong but did a decent job crossing styles. I loved her West Coast swing with Pasha. But she's not All-Star material. I'd love to see Lacey again, maybe this time with her real hair.

Season 4 dancers had charisma and talent out the wazoo. Yes to seeing Twitch, Joshua, Mark, Will, Courtney, Chelsie, Comfort, and Katee again. Especially Katee.

I loved Brandon & Janette as a couple, but I don't know that I care about them as All-Stars even though Janette left too early and I loved her.

Jeanine - She's so fierce. I hope they get her on the show sometime soon.

God yes.

I went back and forth on Kayla, but she just has too much secret stank for me to put her in. Gorgeous dancer, though.

I felt that way during her season, but she was in so many great dances. And now I've seen Ryan and know what true stank is.

Russell - No doubt. Although he'd probably destroy anyone he was paired with in hip hop.

I didn't love many dances he was in his season, so I'd love to see him in something else. Same with Jakob; his work was tainted by his partner for me.

Kathryn - More please. Gorgeous creature.

So much this.

Ellenore - Was so excited to see her show up as an All Star this year. She was great.

And this.

Kent - So good as an All Star and man has he grown up from the Wapokeneta Kid he was during his season.

Not that he's not a great dancer, but I never liked him and probably never will. He ruined the wall dance for me.

TBC - LoFro is so, so serious. She's amazing.

She wins my vote for most improved post-season. Never thought I'd say that. Next thing you know I'll like Molly.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I think my deep and abiding love for Mark makes Season 4 my perpetual favorite. But there really was some excellent talent all the way through that season and lots of the others.
