You'd never make it. I'd rip your spine out before you got half a step. Those little legs wouldn't be much good without one of those.

Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own

This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

The top four came out near the end of the opening group dance - much less dancing for them, more standing and posing. Which I have NO problem with. In the last two days they had 4 new partnered dances, a solo, and then multiple repeat dances. How do you keep all that straight in your head and not fall over during all the rehersals, I don't know.

Project Runway: What the hell is this challenge? I get the outdoor, live show, and that's cool, but stilts?

Stupidest challenge ever. And it produced boring clothes. Usually I edit down to the runway part and keep them for awhile, but when I watching it this morning I knew immediately I had no interest in even that.

Although I was thrilled that for once the deflector (Viktor) was seen through by the judges.

giraffe mode

Yeah that challenge was very strange. I sorta get they were trying to go for the look of the design sketch (elongated legs) but the stilts were just so weird.

Everyone's designs were so ho-hum. Even the winning design wasn't anything that we haven't seen. I like that Kim and Becky designed something that took advantage of their model, and I did like the green pants but meh, this was a so-so episode. Viktor and Bert were so horrid to one another, they didn't even try.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Congratulations to Melanie! I did not see SYTYCD yet because the tv was hogged by Raiders fans (I'm on vacation so I do not have the luxury of my home space).

Thank you all for your comments here because I know the result and your reactions.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

PR: I actually like the challenge in theory, but none of the designs that came out of it were really great. Or full on train wrecks, which I would have enjoyed. And team challenges always make for too much interpersonal drama onscreen for my taste. In summary, meh.

SYTCD: So happy for Melanie, but a little sad for Sasha. They were both so amazing and danced best together, it's just a shame one had to beat the other.

Because books.

This. I always enjoy PR more when they can each do their own thing.

Art Crawl!!!

PR: Yes, I thought that the weirdness of the stilts overshadowed the designs. When I was watching the runway all I kept noticing was the oddity of the way the models had to move.

I was also happy that they saw through Victor. Watching Victor and Bert was painful.

So was watching Fallene's meltdown.

You're right, the stiltwalking motion was really distracting on the runway.

Poor Fallene, losing all her confidence like that. Bryce really came off like an ass.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Yes, he did, but I could see his frustration. They had a discussion about how to cut it with the grain, and she didn't. He was right to be upset, but he did not deal with it well, and his shitting on her to the other designers was not cool.

but, frankly, I think that the new format is too much designer drama, not enough design. I watch on tivo delay so that I can fast forward through the crap.

victor was full of crap, and he started the shit by not being a professional when he and Bert were first partnered. Saying "my heart dropped" in public was childish and tacky. In the little designer interviews, maybe, but not while sitting with the rest of the designers. That said, Bert is annoyingly pedantic and resistant to change. i think that "taste level" will come into play because he has been out of the industry for a while.

Because books.

And Fallene is not cut out for this competition, I think (no pun intended). I felt like yelling before the runway show, "Tim Gunn is not your dad! Get it together!"
