Haha. I know I'M certainly excited for two hours of dance tonight. I always love the finale, it isn't even really about who wins - it's such a celebration of dance.

Starting with disco and ending with Wellington stomping...really? I completely agree with y'all that the more "experimental" styles should not show up in the final.

I say bring back the old days when the early episodes had 4 (yes, 4) ballroom dances. I don't think it would have changed the results much, but it would have been a more interesting journey.

Yes, but only after telling my oldest in no uncertain terms that he could NOT bring the XBox into the living room tonight, since "no one would be home". I told him I WILL BE HOME, and not stuck up in the bedroom for once. Grrr.

The "stomping" was ... well, it looked to me like hip hop with boots and some peculiar props. And I think you need more people to make it effective.

Is it that the choreographers are trying to be "different" and put their own stamp on some style? It does seem to be lots of contemporary - with the requisite hair flinging. But these "experimental" (read that with sarcasm) styles ... I mean, bollywood seems to be the kiss of death, they seemed to have tried a Russian (?) dance last season ... if they're trying to see how the various contestants would deal with the demands of professional dancing, I would imagine a lot of those wouldn't come up often, if at all.
