"We have trust issues." Mylar

Yeah, I do think Blake was trying to give Elenowen a pass to the next round given that he picked the rocker dude up out of the lucky loser's round basically because he had to round out his roster. I think what happened there is that he picked a terrible song for their style/voices and then they didn't sing it well. The key was all wrong for them, especially the girl. She sounded like ass. But I think he was trying to rig it for them to get through.

I thought Christina picked a terrible song for her singers, but I do think in general she has strong singers on her team. I thought both Bev and Bank teller did quite well, better than I expected. It would've been a hard one for me, though I can understand why Christina put Bev through. For my money, Cee-Lo has the best over all team so far. Both weeks, the sing offs have been very close. I was sad to see Tje go home because I think he can really sing and he has an interesting package, as Christina noted. He did well with Closer (which was another strange song choice) but Nikia did better. The only real walkover last night was Javier. I thought he crushed that little girl. Adam's group also has some really strong singers.

I'm still really liking the show. Between this and The Sing Off, NBC has built itself a nice stable of second tier singing shows.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

5 thoughts about Top Chef Masters:

1) I really love Chef Hugh (and Floyd).

2) This episode is killing me with horror of horribleness.

3) why don't they show all the chefs in the opening credits?

4) I hate this fucking season. The scale doesn't work in the kitchen? Would they pull this shit on fucking Hubert Keller? I think interns are showrunning this season.

5) I miss Gael Greene.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Hugh has totally grown on me. I thought he was a total dickhead at the start, but I think he just has a really dry sense of humor but is socially awkward enough that it doesn't always come across right.

also, WTF happened to Ruth Reichel? Was she just on the first episode?

Bah. TCM is keeping me from beer blogging and that is just wrong.

I haven't seen last night's ep yet, but I totally agree with this.

Hugh is like the only saving grace now that Floyd is gone.

This. So much this.

What? Floyd isn't gone! The other Indian guy is gone. Who I also liked until his self-righteousness the last episode or 2.

I still think that he's a dickhead. His spiel about "cooking down" last night was very douchey. I agree with the socially awkward, but sometimes he's also a dick.

Because books.

Yeah, I can't get on board with Hugh. I was amused that he made fun of the unibrow, but he still irritates me every episode.

Yeah, the cooking down thing came on after I'd proclaimed my love for him, and it definitely knocked him down a couple pegs.

But I agreed totally with his dickish "throwing up in my mouth" stuff, because I am also a dick and I felt EXACTLY the same way about the whole thing.
