The judges seem to be liking the disco, but there were a couple of lifts in there that I felt were on the verge of falling apart totally. Or it's just that I found the transitions into them very clunky or something. But, that's the choreographer's fault, not the dancer's.

Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own

Neil needs some over done eye make up and he'll look a refugee from an 80s band.
That last move was cool! And so was him dragging her! totally in character of the cape.
God this is so much better than that stupid Pose doble earlier.
Nigel! You didn't think Sabra could win this until now? Are you freaking blind!
I am sitting here slightly underwhelmed tonight. Except for the negotiation routine, I feel like I'm not really seeing anything new. Some of the dancing has been great, but I'm wishing for a real surprise.
I was disappointed that after the Mia Michaels contemporary, all the praise was for Lauren and not much of anything for Danny.
I thought the smooth waltz was pretty, but Lacey's butt was sticking out -- and I think it was her posture, not anatomy.
I'm a little out of sync here, because I'm watching on TiVo.
Personally, I did not find that Paso Doble at all hot. Neil just leaves me cold. Sabra was a hot little thing, but when you're working with a wet blanket. Well...
That was bad. Capital "B" bad. How many beats after the music did it actually end? And the hunchback was back with a vengance. Nigel is smoking the monkey crack again. And Sabra had a little bobble at the front there. Chuy and Sara did it ten times better.
I will give Neil a tiny point for the leather pants. I normally don't find him attractive, but dayum!
Debbie Allen, I love you. But you are useless as a judge.
Danny's solo: I just have no more words for how incredible he is. That's how it's done. Beautiful, beautiful dancer. Miles ahead of the others.
Chuy and Sara did it ten times better.
Sing it. I miss them!
I am really concerned for Danny and Pasha. Danny was amazing in Mia's routine on a night when the other jazz/contemp routine was far superior and Neil was the best that I've seen him in that dance. Mandy Moore got him to pull up and I have no idea how she pulled off that miracle. Pasha was great in the hip hop, but it was by far the weakest of the three first round dances.
I didn't like any of the second round dances, but Pasha and Lacey came out as the best of a bad bunch. Pasha was wonderful and Lacey was ok (minus the claws), but waltz is not exactly a grabber. The disco was underwhelming and neither Danny nor Lauren was at his/her best (really struggled with the lifts). I thought the paso was just as bad, though so that's kind of a wash.
As always, Danny's solo was light years beyond what the other dancers pulled off. But Neil managed not to be atrocious this week, and Pasha's solo was kind of odd. I may be moved for the first time ever to actually call and vote. I really think Neil could bump either Danny or Pasha tonight, and even though tonight was his best showing of the season, his making the finals over either of those two is just unacceptable.
As much as it pains me to say it, Lacey was the weakest dancer tonight, but see above for how I'd feel if Lauren somehow snuck into the final over either Lacey or Sabra.
Well, I voted so many times for Danny, Pasha and Sabra that I started getting confused about when to push what button and actually hung up a couple of times before the recording told me that I had voted.
I'm not worried about Danny. He's got the barechest effect going for him. I'm pretty sure we'll see Pasha go bye-bye. And Lacey, too. The ballroom/latin peeps just don't have the repertoire for staying power.
I will be very pissed if both Lauren and Neil make it.
