Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Were the dances shorter? Or was it really just the choreography?

I think it was a bit of both. The dances were shorter, so the ones with longer pauses or less continuous movement seemed even shorter.

I didn't love the sound of Tre and CJ's dish and agree that I would never call anything truffle "Mediterranean".

I don't understand why one ingredient makes it not mediterranean. It was parmesan, tomato and kale, which are all meditrranean. Do mediterranean people use ground turkey? I think that this issue is kind of specious. I did love the little pissing match that Collicchio and Rocco got into behind it, though.

Art Crawl!!!

So did I.

I'm not sure why truffles aren't mediterranean. It's a regional Italian ingredient and isn't that what the best of Italian cuisine does? Make excellent use of local ingredients?

Truffles are mostly found in France and Italy. I mean, it's like saying I can't use cheddar cheese because it's found in Wisconsin, not in DC.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, that was hilarious. DiSpirito was like, "I've dug up truffles in Italy!" Colicchio was all, "Not by the Mediterranean, you haven't."

Truffles are certainly French Italian. But to me, Italian does not equal Mediterranean. Just like all French food wouldn't be described as Mediterranean.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, I don't know. Kind of have to go with Colicchio on this one. It's not so much specific ingredients but distinctive flavors that mark something "mediterranean" (or whatever region), and truffles aren't really it.

Truffles say woodsy, earthy to me. Not sea, sex, and sun.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Didn't they say Italian/Mediterrean though, not just mediterranean?
