Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own

This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

HK: I am rooting for Rock (by default) because I hate Bonnie, and Jen is garbage woman.

Dear god I've got no one left to root for on this show (though god bless Ramsay for sending Julia to culinary school cause all she needs is some breadth of knowledge now - she has shown she can master just about any technique if she gets a chance, and do it consistently, which is more than half that battle from what I've read). Rock just infuriates me with constantly going on about how he's playing the game, but if he perceives anyone else doing it to him he loses his shit. Plus? Big time women issues. Bonnie's a turnip-headed twerp. If Jen had never pulled that garbage shit, I'd totally be rooting for her, but, just, no. Can't do it. Honestly though, for his massive impulse control issues, I just have to root AGAINST Rock. This man is going to treat his staff like shit whenever he feels he's in a bad mood (as opposed to how I read Ramsay, who's all about getting out a high-level, consistent product). I gotta say I LOVE that Josh didn't even get a flaming photo mention at the end - just BUH-BYE!!!

Can we scratch the entire lot?

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I had a dream last night that I was on HK and won. And promptly freaked out because I have never been to culinary school and have no idea how to run a kitchen. Twas odd.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Big Brother: I think I love Dick. He is Evil! I know it would be shitty to be in the middle of it, but it makes for good tv. I kind of feel bad for Kail, even though she fucking sucks. Also, he's a student of BB!

Seriously. I wouldn't want to be his daughter, by any means, but I kind of love him. He's like the evil twin of Dr. Will.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, I'm liking him way more than I expected to.

Jen is - amazing. It's like she's achieved such a perfect level of self-absorption that nothing can seep through. The mustard? Whatev. The people dressed up and trying to distract her? Not a crack in her facade until they actually started playing her, which, seriously, probably the only possible way of getting her attention. I'm kind of boggled.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jen is truly bananas. What was she saying last week about, "I don't feel bad, really, because I'm incapable of human emotion, but there's something going on inside, which maybe is feeling bad? I'm not sure." It was seriously something like that.

I like the Evil Dick/Evil Dr. Will method of just being upfront in your dickitude. No one will ever feel stabbed in the back. They'll probably feel stabbed in the front, but it's not all this sneaking around fake-secrets bullshit.

Punishingly Intricate

What was she saying last week about, "I don't feel bad, really, because I'm incapable of human emotion, but there's something going on inside, which maybe is feeling bad? I'm not sure."

whoa...now I REALLY wish I'd been watching this show!

OK, maybe "incapable of human emotion" wasn't her phrase, but the sentiment was damn close.
