Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I learned the mercator map from West Wing!

See, I used to feel all special for knowing about the Mercator stuff, and WW went and ruined that.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

What is tummy time, and how on earth could you hate it?

Oh, so it's really more like turtle time. Well, reverse turtle time.

Still doubtful on the hating. Wait'll the world starts making them be upright all the time. Then they'll only wish they could lie around on their tummies.

At this point, I feel like rescinding the trip, but it would also punish those who did what they were supposed to do. OTOH, I hate for them to think that they can get away with this shit.

Make it contingent. Tell them they almost lost it altogether, and the next (week, two weeks, whatever works in the context) will be shape-up time.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I put up an FNL cast interview linky thing in Bitches a bit ago.

I will have to go look for it.

Sekret message to JZ: I also want that other thing to happen, and I suspect Bitches will be the place. That would make my day much more entertaining.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

You know, with college kids, I think the stakes for sloppy work, missed/late assignments, and lateness needs to be higher than missing a field trip. More like a grade ding.

it's pass/fail. Next year (if God continues to hate me and I'm still here), I'll institute a punishment system that involves their stipends. Late assignments, $50? don't attend a required event? $100, etc.

Evidently there's power outages in San Francisco that may be affecting LiveJournal and Technorati...?

Other random note: a bulb syringe to suck snot out of noses is one of my favorite parent-of-newborn tools. But as much as I love and depend on it, Noah hates it in equal an unabashed measure.
