of a woman at an early job asking me if I'd ever opened mail before.
"Actually, no. I wonder if that's why my heat won't turn on?"
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Heh.
I didn't find that book where I was told it would be
I checked all the tables up front, but the place was such a zoo it wasn't easy. Computer says they are there, so the next trip in that direction I'll try again. I could pick up that book I hear is available later today then too.
Well, I am going to go crawl under my covers and watch pre-recorded tv stuff. Current temp is 53 and is supposed to go into the 40s tonight! Forgive my fascination with this. Laura, you are not in Florida anymore. Free A/C, Whee!
Welcome Bobbi!
Aww, brenda, I've been watching Standoff, though I'm not right this moment, and now I'm a little sad that I'm going to have to watch kinda-crap tv. And they were doing so well.
But I keep reading and watching DVDs instead.
Books and DVDs are incredibly sneaky that way.
I'd been thinking of watching Standoff but hadn't gotten around to it. From what I see here, I should use my time more wisely--for web surfing or reading or hanging with my dogs.
How do I procrastinate on housekeeping. Let me count the ways...
I'm glad I never watched Standoff.
I'm catching up on Doctor Who and Eureka but I've got a headache.
My weekend plans include watching Profit tonight, then there's shopping, housework, playing with kids. The usual.
Welcome, Bobbi! And go you with the rescuing of aging canines: they need it.
I'm beginning to surf Petfinders for a new beast--my beloved beast died a year ago--but I'm leery of the elderly dogs. I don't think I could take losing a dog again after only a few years. Plus, pragmatically, I want a dog I can run with.
I went to lunch (sushi in Alameda! t waves at SuziQ ) and then to Nordie's, where I spent way too much money--but at least I stayed out of the shoe section, which was a madhouse. And then home and to dinner with family, and now I'm waiting to see if the elder niece wants me to go to the bookstore with her so she can buy HP... she's 17, she can drive herself, but it's literally walking distance from me and she's all of a sudden excited about sleeping over on my futon.
Teenagers: they're so cute!
I think I will watch Jericho.
