That almost happened to a friend of mine. Everyone was worrying over the boy with the chipped tooth, and it was a while before they realised where the chip had gone.

Eeewwww.
OK, how come my work isn't getting done while I do other things? I opened the right windows and everything.
Well, I don't have anything embedded anywhere, but I do have lovely cramps, so I tried to call into work. Problem is, with the rearranging of my boss's office situation (she was working from both my building and the one on Peterson, and forwarding her phone calls from one to the other depending on what day it was and where she was working, but due to renovation of the executive wing at my building, they took away her office up here and shut down her phone), I couldn't call her old extension, and even though I know the extension at the Peterson office, I don't know the general prefix for that building, so I can't call there either! So, I just e-mailed her my sick call and asked if she'd call me when she received it.
I feel like a dork for not knowing something as basic as the prefix for that building, especially since I've been working here almost 15 years, but I never have to use the prefix when calling from my office, and that's the only time I've ever had to call there!
I opened the right windows and everything.
In order to let in the work fairy?
The work fairies all got washed away in the TORRENTIAL RAIN.
Stupid rain.
And the rugby players - has Vortex seen them? she'll appreciate it. I certainly did!
oh, yes. and it was pretty.
We missed the torrential downpours here--they were all happening along the Mississippi River near Galena last night, including flash floods that swept away houses and cars!
Boss just called; she had no idea that the phone situation was that fucked up. Good thing is that I should be getting a work laptop soon, bad thing is that means that days like today I'll be working from home, and not able to just veg. Feh.
Did anyone post about the rugby player who was having these eye infections and headaches? Turned out he had the tooth of another player embedded in his skull.
OK, that is kind of awesome in that "will never buy his own pint again" way.
I googled the rugby tooth skull guy....
“I can laugh about it now, but the doctor told me it could have been serious, with teeth carrying germs,” Czislowski said.
“I’ve got the tooth at home, sitting on the bedside table,” he said. “If he (Austin) wants it back he can have it. I’m keeping it at the moment as proof that it actually happened.”
"I feel so lucky that the worst that I got out of it was that my head looked uglier than it does normally."
Heh. Rugby players are awesome!
