I just got a lovely vistaprint card handed to me yesterday. I know, and have used the service many, many times...but if I didn't, I'm not sure I'd even have noticed their logo on the back.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
See, and here I would have assumed this was a prelude to a "...better go catch it!" joke.
It was actually a prelude to a lecture about how the starter on the starting side was broken. There were a lot of lectures today.

Dear Repair Dude,
If we all knew everything there was to know about A/C units, we wouldn't need you. You'd be unemployed and living in a van down by the river.
I'm not really here because I'm on a group pc while they do something to my unix account and my god is it a pain in the ass to adapt tasks done on a unix desktop to doing them on a pc. Especially since I don't use pcs much.
But I got to "feed" the jukeboxes today because I'm the only one here. It was very 2001. Um. In 2007. Um.
I also thankfully know how to delete cookies.
I just have to get the Avery business card blanks to print them out with, though -- and if I decide to change my design/text, I can do it in batches of ten.
Right now, in place of a company name, I have
application architecting * workflow designing * info managing * db wrangling
... which is either too precious or just enough to be accurate yet tantalizing in a sea of otherwise ordinary business cards given to prospective networkers, et cetera.
(Edited to add: it all fits on one line, across the width of the card....)
In non air-conditioning news, is anyone watching the Tour de France? amych?
I watched a little bit of it last night. Apparently, Tuesday's stage was very, very exciting.
Oh and Michael Rasmussen looks scary, scary skinny.
Ginormous is officially a real word!
Nothing against ginormous, but I think that we're getting cavalier about adding new words to the dictionary. I mean, how long is "crunk" really going to be around? (and they seem to have defined it wrong, or at least left out a definition, in the article)? This is the kind of culture that makes "wrongheaded" an allegedly real word.
