My teeth started falling apart when I left the land of flouridation. Now, that time also corresponded to a hormone shift and lactose intolerance, so it may not be related. However, I now have to use a special sooperflouridated toothpaste.

msbelle, I'd go looking for "making of" documentaries. And greenscreen with wires and stuff.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Oh, Emily, my sistah in unhipness. I was saying this very thing today, attempting to justify why I haven't gotten my hair cut yet. The lighting wipes out my features and leaves my face a pasty blur, and there are mirrors everywhere so I can't forget for a moment how fat I really am, and I'm always sitting next to some young hottie in tight jeans complaining because her hair is too thick (here, honey, let me rip some of it out for you!). And everyone else looks the same in the mirror as they do really, so I must really look like THAT, and, I'll just stay home. Forever.

Going to get her hair done is supposed to make a woman feel better.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Yes I feel the same way Emily. I try to look good when leaving the house, but I always feel disgusting at the salon - especially when my hair is wet.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Emily, I feel the same way. Not just you.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Stopping using fluoridated toothpastes coincided with a cessation of the mysterious cystic breakouts around my lower lip. I've read that some people are allergic, and since I'm allergic to everything else, why not. It's been years and my teeth are still fine, so I guess brushing with fluoridated water is enough.

Fluoride. Always looks wrong.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ooh, now that it's summer, I should be making hibiscus iced tea, which I do by throwing the dried hibiscus into water and leaving it. No sugar. Perfect tart and delicious, and more or less like the agua de jamaica from Mexico.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, also, I bought lemonade off some kids on the street just now. Possibly not the best day for it, since we just had the torrential rain storms, but as the one kid said, "We've got to do something!" It is delicious -- real lemon in it.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

I feel quite comforted by that. My (Hec-recommended) stylist is actually really nice and empathetic and everything, I just feel... frumpy. Also, boring. And then of course I have to take my glasses off (which is a relief in the not-having-to-look-at-myself sense) which means I end up staring at people unintentionally. I'm just resting my eyes, but they don't know they're just a peach blob.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

OK, documentaries with a lot of underwater shots should not use white subtitles. I may not have HD tv, but even with it, it can't be easy to read!
