And I myself will be wearing pink taffeta as chenille would not go with my complexion.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, also, I bought lemonade off some kids on the street just now. Possibly not the best day for it, since we just had the torrential rain storms, but as the one kid said, "We've got to do something!" It is delicious -- real lemon in it.

I feel quite comforted by that. My (Hec-recommended) stylist is actually really nice and empathetic and everything, I just feel... frumpy. Also, boring. And then of course I have to take my glasses off (which is a relief in the not-having-to-look-at-myself sense) which means I end up staring at people unintentionally. I'm just resting my eyes, but they don't know they're just a peach blob.

OK, documentaries with a lot of underwater shots should not use white subtitles. I may not have HD tv, but even with it, it can't be easy to read!

What is even happening?

Whereas, the whole vitamin water concept strikes me vaguely as the liquid version of "Just eat a frelling muffin, whitey!"

Yes. Yes it does. This is how it strikes me, exactly. I wonder if this is a New Englander response.

I'm so enchanted by this idea, that I'm afraid to read Salon and break the spell.

Um, can lower GI stuff manifest in back spasms? Cause there seems to be a time correlation between that and nearly barfing at work when my back inexplicably seized up (and slowly worked down, it was freaky) a la hormonal cramps.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

This is a cool blog idea.

Ha! That's my co-editor Kim.

She does cool Crime Bus tours too.

eta: Oops. I lied. She did the first one like that - 1947.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Emily, I literally JUST got back from getting my hair cut and colored and I have the same response. I try to look only at my hair in the mirror and ignore my face, since it looks like a lump of dough. A lump of dough with a big nose.
