Overwhelming? How much more than whelming would that be exactly?

I remember that quote! In college, the snack bar sold bottled juices that had various quotes printed under the lid, and that was one of them. The other I recall is "I prefer a comfortable vice to a virtue that bores."

I miss french. I'm pretty much reduced to being able to pronounce it semicorrectly and maybe understand 60%. Can't speak it spontaneously anymore. Makes me sad.

No tutoring tonight, they aren't home. Which is ok with me. I'm happy to do it 2-3 nights a week, but every night is a bit much. I do want to find her a good exercise book, though. Some stuff she just needs to practice a lot and the book we are using only had about 9 problems per concept. Which is really not enough.

Um, when did I become this person?

When mom was pregnant with me, she was involved in the LWV. A friend she met there, Barb, was a month further along, and once we were born, the joined La Leche together and then formed an informal playgroup with one of the other moms involved in both. All of them went on to have sons within months of each other. They talked parenthood and career plans and the ERA.

Some of the earliest pictures of me include Kim. We were Piglet and Peachfuzz, named such by our dads. Funny I remember her nickname.

They moved away when I was in 3rd or fourth grade and there were the occasional xmas letter, but it just sort of drifted.

Last xmas Barb got back in touch and they caught up via email . A few weeks ago, Kim had her first kid, their first grandchild. Mom just sent me the picture. She still looks like Kim!

And Barb wrote to talk about grandparenthood, on Kim's birthday.

It's this whole circle thing and it is kind of awesome.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I'm not getting enough packing done. I'm guessing it'll go faster once I pack the computer so... when next you hear from me I'll be between the lakes in northern MI. I'll probably be scarce around here for the next six weeks.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Well see if you walk fast then...you have to...your legs are...

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

By that standard I'm a total lesbian. I tend to walk fast away from a lot of men. Particularly the one in front of the downtown library ranting about bitches who done him wrong.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Particularly the one in front of the downtown library ranting about bitches who done him wrong.

So that's what happened to your Calculus teacher.
