We saw red pandas on our last trip to the National Zoo. Also saw mama and (not so little) baby giant pandas on the Asian Trail. Then it started to look ominous, so we walked back to the Metro.

I enjoyed the hell out of driving the brand-new Mustang I had for a weekend last year, but Ford's dashboard design is the pits. So boring and boxy and bleah. OTOH, the rumble when I got that sucker going was fun....
I just took a picture of my hand, so you all could diagnose my imminent death from this ridiculous (and fucking spreading!) bug bite on it. But the picture pretty much diagnosed me as possibly dying of hypochrondria.
Red pandas are indeed The Cutest, being the real world animals that most closely resemble Nummymuffin Coocolbutter.
The bug in Wikipedia's picture of the day skeeves me. Partially because that's one weird-fuck head, and partially because they're common, not small, and I've never seen one before.
bon bon, if you didn't see the bug that bit you it might be worth getting checked out just in case it is a virulent bite. Say, ferinstance, a brown recluse bit you, you would end up losing all the skin in the effected area.
that mole cricket looks a lot like what we call potato bugs. ita, you're welcome to come turn over the stones in our back yard if you'd like to be totally skeeved in person.
Common but rarely seen. I hope this doesn't lead to that phenomenon where you see a reference to a thing and then start seeing it everywhere. Red Pandas I would be happy to see everywhere. Mole Crickets, nsm.
Stay out from under the rocks in my back yard.
That doesn't look like the same bug to me. But I am extremely bad at identifying insects.
