What other women on that list are closeted?

Welllll, being all hooked into the lesbian rumor mill, which we know is COOMPLETELY accurate....ALL OF THEM!

Nah, but considering only 8 of those 100 "admit" to being gay or bi, I'm guessing there's a few more. Not to be stereotyping or anything, but if you play a lesbian ALL THE TIME, I gotta wonder (*cough*CleaDuvall*cough*KateMoennig*cough*etcetc) And there are definitely rumors about some of them, but who knows how much credence to put into them--do I REALLY think Queen Latifah is queer? Probably not. Do I wish she was, cause she's freakin' AWESOME? Yeah. Am I glad, if she's straight, that she's been awesome and played queer characters? Heck yeah.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Finally, the subpoenas are coming... to be followed by the Constitutional showdown....

This is a subpoena to a former political director at the White House, Sara Taylor. Now this is significant in that this is, in the months of the struggle between Congress and the administration on these fired federal prosecutors, this is going to be the first time we're going to see a subpoena actually go out to somebody who worked inside the White House. This Sara Taylor was assistant until really a few weeks ago, she just left the White House. She was a key deputy to Karl Rove, of course the President's chief political advisor and so what the committee has wanted to know from her, as they have from other people who worked in the White House, is what the White House's role was with these fired federal prosecutors because they are trying, have been trying to figure out, they have been investigating whether politics was at play here...obviously will set off a big political fight which is already going on, but also a Constitutional showdown...

And...

Two congressional committees are issuing subpoenas for testimony from former White House counsel Harriet Miers and former political director Sara Taylor on their roles in the firings of eight federal prosecutors, according to two officials familiar with the investigation. [...]

The Senate Judiciary Committee's subpoena for Taylor compels her to testify on July 11, while the House Judiciary Committee's subpoena for Miers compels her testimony the next day.

...Not yet on the subpoena list is President Bush's top political adviser, Karl Rove, but only because Democrats have not yet finished interviewing those below him, the officials said.

I'm looking forward to the Miers testimony....

Trust my rage

The thing that bugged me so much about Workout is that so much of it seemed staged for TV. Obviously, Doug's death was not, but much of the rest of it just seemed fake to me. Or else heavily edited. But stuff like Zen at the comdey club seemed really "hey, we have this person on a Bravo show, and she likes to do stand-up and wouldn't it be a great cross-marketing thing if she came to your club and we covered it?"

Still, I like Jackie - yeah, she can be bitchy, but most of the time, I like her.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

The ones about Queen Latifah are almost as wide-spread as the ones about Jodie Foster were 15 years back! That's like, points in favor, right? Right?

She's my favorite possible lesbian.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

The AfterEllen list makes me happy.

Mmmmm, me too.

It is possible that Queen Latifah is bi, is it not? Either way, I think she's awesome. She's never played Ma Rainey, has she? She should.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I cheerfully surfed that afterellen list and stole pics for my site. I seem to have ascended to an uncharitable place where I can roll my eyes at the Cushbert/Alba/etc inclusions and mutter "But don't we know better???"

This is the same charitable place from which I sneer at that (car?) ad that doesn't try and tell me that smarts are hot, but rather try and tell me smarts have always been hot. The friend I was with said "They're only hot on men" to which I replied "Most woman would rather a rich guy to a smart one."

I'm not sure who that ita is.

But that ad really irritated me, because they touch on sports and mention smarts are hot there. And show a coach. An unathletic, balding, besuited coach.

Get the fuck over yourselves.

I'll happily agree that to top your sport smarts are a good thing--Federer, Woods, Jordan, etc--all rocking some brains there. And there are probably athletes who are only pro because of their brains--because they can use their smarts to give them an edge over other less bright but similarly physically gifted competitors. The middle ranks? Filled with people whose brains don't matter. Why pretend otherwise?

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Rumor has it...

Federer actually answers his fan mail! There was another thing about him, but it was all about how Federer is this really kind and charitable human.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Federer impresses me, not least of all because he used to have a fearsome temper problem, and is now remarkably even.

I just got called to find out why I'm not on a conference call. Because I wasn't invited to one right now? Is weird.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Hey, if I wear flip-flops to the airport, will I still have to take them off?

Now tagless for your comfort.

I've had it work both ways, Jesse. Sometimes, yes. Sometimes, no.
