Season 1 totally shows why they're better. They are just more professional and more mature than season 2. Even down to being able to squash Marcel w/o literally squashing him or attempting to shave his head.
Go Harold! I love how symmetric the challenges were with
the person from season 1 matched head to head with the right person from season 2. The two most likely to melt-down, the two most eccentric, the two who won, the fan favorite vs. the runner-up. And I think that season 2 was just lucky that Elia was on -- otherwise they would have lost every single course.
And speaking of hair (from upthread): what about Elia's?
sumi, the special hasn't aired yet! I'm only up to the S1 Napa episodes. What strikes me about him is that he is both an endearingly cranky bastard and a really low key, stand up guy. Plus? He seems to give awesome hugs.
