Natter 52: Playing with a full deck?
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Yay, Ducks win! They possessed the greatest share of individual players that I like.
I somehow managed to cut a finger on one hand and burn one on the other in the process of cooking dinner tonight. On the bright side, tasty pecan-crusted trout soothed my pain.
Apropos of nothing, I find myself wanting to move to Chicago for a while. Not sure why.
Buffistas make me laugh and tear up and laugh again. Stop playing with my emotions, people, I'm fragile.

You like voting early and often?

Because it's a cool (and sometimes cold) place to live and cool kids live here?
There are Buffistas, and it's cool. The downtown area was surprisingly clean. There's a giant Ferris wheel. There's a huge damn lake that looks like an ocean. It seems like a happenin' place. I liked it.
If I could, I'd love to move every year or so to a different city. Just to get the feel of living in a different place. Chicago, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, just move around. It would be like taking a series of really long vacations.

You mean that's not what people are supposed to do?
oops
Our family reunion is this summer in Chicago, which I am totally jazzed about. We are going, all 45 or so of us, to a Cubs game, renting a trolley for a tour of the city, and much other cool stuff. The only downside is that I just figured out it's during the weekend that the new Harry Potter book comes out and I will have to WAIT to read it. I don't know if I can.
Why isn't it 10:00 yet? I want to watch TC and then go to bed.
Oh, but Kat, it is okay now, because they are no longer Disney themed. They are not the Mighty Ducks anymore, they are just the Ducks. Which, okay, still not exactly your fearsome mascot, but I cannot talk, what with being a fan of the Penguins and all.
I didn't watch the game. I had a meeting with our builder.
However, we did, over the past two days...
- put in my building permit application
- prep my water hookup application (just needs moola)
- get panicked by our power hookup application and get reassured by our builder
- get our loan process well underway
- finish undone back budget info for the past six months
- complete undone overdue report to major grantor
- update all financial information for board meeting
- do board meeting agenda
- gather all personal financial info for bank
- wrestle mightily with a recalcitrant credit card company, ultimately getting an accounts resolution manager to a) close the account like it was supposed to be yonks ago, b) post an all-clear to the credit reporting agencies, c) write me a letter saying he'd done so for the benefit of my banks, d) apologize profusely and accept responsibility
- break my printer and have a hissyfit then realize that it wasn't broken beyond usability
- spend a bunch of time haggling with both IBM & HP tech support with rather less success than I had with the credit card guy
- firm up our summer schedule, confirming with various family members, friends, and churches
- clean the house
- clear out the refrigerator
- launder everything, including bedding
And tonight I still have to run payroll for the summer while we're on the road, finish upgrading to the next version of Quickbooks, finish board meeting agenda attachments, fax one million pages to two different banks, pack, and fall over.
Oh, and in the middle of all that? We're frantically trying to reschedule the actual board meeting, because we're not going to make quorum.
