One of the things that has surprised me is how unfriendly-seeming the yoga teachers are and how few alternative-prep poses they offer for those of us that can't always get into the full pose. Also, I don't understand how people learn anything in some classes I went to -- the teacher just stands there and calls out a pose but never gives any hint as to how to enter it, proper positioning, etc., in case anyone is having trouble.

vw, I'm glad your people turned out ok, and hopefully the woman who was injured will heal nicely. And I am also glad for Aimee's relatives' safety, even though she didn't know she needed to worry!
I'm still on edge for juliana, and hope that everyone checks out ok there, too.
I woke up at 4 am this morning, which made calling my mom for her birthday rather easy. Am very tired, didn't finish a project I was hoping to, and am now off to network with someone. Hope it turns out well!
I also managed to get my passport application in the mail. I spent extra money on the postage, which hopefully will work without me having to go downtown. I'm having issues with the picture, though. I feel so ugly. Oh well, who's really going to be looking that much at it anyway.

My job is being made worse today by the people who are planning (dis)orientation for the students. My message yesterday said we could have all the time we needed on the morning of the 15th. Today I emailed that we wanted 1.5 hours and thanks. I got an angry phone call back that we'd only been scheduled for an hour at 9:30 a.m. and we'd need to come back at 8:15 p.m. for the night students.
Er? The first and last slots of the day? And did I mention that the 15th is a university holiday so whoever does come in has to do this on a day off?
