I went looking at LOLCats to get my mind off the I-35W collapse and somehow found this:
Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Natter was nattering about the LOLCat of Death eariler. Freaks me right out.
I was horrified at the I-35W collapse. So awful.
Tons of job~ma to MM.
Woo hoo to Robin & DH!
In meme news, I feel like crap. I made it 26 hours on a liquid fast, got a massive headache, and broke down and had a bowl of soup. This shouldn't feel like failure, but it does. Dammit.
It may not sound like much, but those liquid fasts--well, any sort, really--give me headaches. And did, even before the migraines got this bad.
Apparently that's standard, but I was never willing to power through to the end for all the supposed benefits. It's pain. Avoiding it makes sense. Hell, I should be that sensible more often. Don't judge yourself.
Thanks, ita. My friend Sara did a seven-day water fast last month, and she raved about the benefits. I've been wanting to try it (though I was shooting for fewer days and with more than just water for liquids), but I wasn't expecting this level of pain. Ah well. A little soup and some sinus pills should kick this headache down to sleepable size, I hope.
I don't know if it's worth trying again tomorrow. Do all of the benefits of "cleansing" go away once you've broken the fast?
Do all of the benefits of "cleansing" go away once you've broken the fast?
I like to think of them (not that there's been a point--I never last) as a reset button, and you'll be better off for having had one, even if you don't sustain a modified diet.
Now, as for how long, I can't even begin to make something up. But I figure it's better than not having fasted in the first place.
I've been tempted by the cayenne lemonade liquid fast I've heard about--possibly just because I like both major ingredients.
The severe dietary modification I kept hitting the (painful) wall with was one of all raw food with supergreen beverages. Halfway through each day 2 I kept snapping and having a bowl of cereal and experiencing instantaneous relief.
I've had some severe dietary modifications recommended to me as part of migraine prophylaxis, but never by any sort of medical professional (if my herbalist acupuncturist hasn't suggested anything, I'm feeling no pressure), so I've not been even tempted.
I mean, give up yeast? God that would make me so cranky and headachey that people would be mugging me to stuff bread down me.
::shudders::
MM- tons of job~ma! I feel good about this one. They will be good folks who will name you King. They might even give you a signing bonus (craftily disguised as medical benefits).
Much envy and congrats on the house ownership! Yay!
Pete & ND. Amazingly enough, Gears of War arrived today. Not bad. Half price and super speedy arrival. Woot!
OK, long day. Spent 4+ hours editing for the Burlesque show. A very fun, but labor intese editing of 80's hair music. Should be a fun routine. So, off to bed for me... (ok, after watching my news shows)
Timelies! Migraine gone. Feel more human. Must get things done today!
jobma for MiracleMan. (checks watch) ooh, got that in just in time!
YAY, Robin and hubby! Congrats.
That's all I got today. Not as much in a crappy mood today, though yesterday's lasted all day until I was about halfway through my post-work gym workout. Then everything was ok.
job ~ma MM!
House ownership, hurrah!
I am so sore today from a yoga class on Tuesday night that it hurts to type. That said, it was about the best class I've managed to find here in D.C. so I'll be going back.
Job~ma, MM!
I hope you have heard from the remaining 25%, juliana and that all are well.
Congratulations on home ownership, Robin and Robin's DH!
