Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Exactly! Why waste time with someone who can write a fun e-mail, that is a zero in person. That's my thoughts. If there is no chemistry, then why keep it up?

(Good to know my logic has at least one other sympathetic thinker)

Thrive to spite them

Thank you for the not raining ma, right after I posted that it started to calm down where I was, enough that I drove home and then by the time I went to the service it had stopped. The graveside funeral was very nice, both my great aunt and uncle's sons are preachers (the Southern Baptists I often refer to) and they performed the service and it was very touching.

But my great aunt is devastated, and my grandma (the older sister) is going to go up and stay with her for a week or so to help her get through this. So if y'all could continue to send peace and healing~ ma to my great aunt I'd appreciate it.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

{{{askye}}} Much ~ma to your great aunt and your family (and you, of course).

Dog is my co-pilot.

Healing and peace ~ma to your great aunt and you and yours.

It's good she still has her sister for support. My Aunt Mildred is 94 and has been the sole survivor of her siblings since my mom (the youngest of 5) died 6 years ago. Aunt M. lived independently until a couple of months ago when she suffered a serious stroke. She made another amazing comeback but is in skilled care for rehab now. I talked with her a couple of weeks ago and she's decided that she's had enough. That said, she'd just come back from having her hair done, and she laughed about that.

Thrive to spite them

Kristin - I bought Delivered from Distraction today, the clerk at Borders helped me (becuase I couldn't remember the author) and then asked if it was for me. When I said yes, he said he has ADD and then offered that he finds listening to Bach (especially violin pieces played on guitar), soothing and helpful to concentration. So I ended up walking up with the book and 2 cds.

I've read through some of the book and a lot of it is "omigod! That's me!"

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

So I ended up walking up with the book and 2 cds.

That's a pretty awesome sale on his part -- but if it works for you, all the better!

I've read through some of the book and a lot of it is "omigod! That's me!"

It's so very, very true. Even on re-read, I still have the "that's me" response, balanced between "I'm not just an idiot!1!" and "but why did I have to lose so much time before figuring this out?" (Yeah, I still need to work on the beating myself up thing.)

Whatever you end up doing as far as treatment goes, I hope the whole path to finding answers is a good one for you. I'm so happy to see it.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

~ma to your great-aunt, askye. And I hope the book (and the cds!) are helpful.

Vortex, I had no idea you were still waiting to close. How in the world are you still sane? I'd have bitten a chunk out of the nearest ne'er do well long before now.

Heh. I had to share the Kenny Rogers riff wit' da guys. They're shaking their heads. But they're grinning.

Thanks for the good wishes. I'm really ready to get this thing done.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

{{askye and family}}

Beverly, I hope all your medical procedure woes turn out well and conclude easily. Closure is good.

Anne, how's your stepdad doing today? Hopefully better.

I got my picture taken today for my passport application, but it looks like a mugshot and me no likey. I have to try again tomorrow. Really want to get it in the mail tomorrow.

Great pictures, great filks, and fun wit. Thanks you guys for being you.

{{{askye and askye's great-aunt}}}

Bev, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Anne, how's your stepdad doing today? Hopefully better.

Unfortunately, not really. Turns out it's the drug-resistant kind of staph. Plus, they've also found streptococcus bacteria in there as well. He's currently in isolation. Continued ~ma is very much appreciated.

Much ~ma to you Anne.
