If it is actually the PI, they don't actually pay any attention to the characteristics you've chosen. What they do is map your answers against a large database of answers from known quantities. Then they tell you a result based on who you match up with--sales, tech, customer service, self-employed, etc.
It is kinda interesting, and I now wish I hadn't lost my results.
Well, it's a supervisor position, but they didn't have "megalomaniacal", "tyrannical" or "despotic" as options.
Damn! Then how "predictive" can it really be?
I was just thrown because...well, it doesn't test my actual abilities. Just my self-images...how I think others perceive me and how I perceive myself.
Which doesn't really address how I might actually, ya know...do the job.
Just weird.
SO MUCH ~ma for Tom and fam.
Job~ma for MM.
I am not knocked up. In the current situation, the second I do get knocked up, you will watch me beat a path to Canada so fast they'll think the Stanley Cup is coming home.

I have friends in a mixed US/Canadian relationship who just did that. After the baby was born though.

Trust me--they're not paying attention to the details. Just to the stats. We tested all our existing employees and then used it as a part of the interview for applicants, and it was really rather good.

I've heard that some companies are using this type of screening tool to narrow the field down to applicants they believe will be a good fit with the company. They throw out lots of people and then do interviews for those who look most promising to screen for actual job-related skills.
Instead I got "In these four columns choose the words that you think describe how people expect you to act" and "In these four columns choose the words that you think actually describe you" and that was it.
See, I'd get all caught up in "which people"??? Because I think people who've just met me would expect me to act one way but people who really know me expect me to act another way (and I think people who really know me have realistic expectations of how I'll act. I'm consistent if nothing else.)
Can I whine here for just a moment?
I'm so tired of eating so much. It is f@#king work! Moslty I've been feeling okay the last week or two, but the second i get hungry, I feel awful. And I'm so tired of eating raisins, yogurt, granola, cheese, fruit and healthy stuff. All I want to eat is M&Ms, Heath Bars, and Starbursts.
And I've been feeling dizzy on and off for about a week now. I sit at my desk and everything thing feels weird - sometimes things spin, other times I just feel like I"m about to, but not quite, lose my balance.
Anyway, totally nothing compared to people with, you know, actual problems, but I just want it to stop.
Hey, Bobbi, welcome!
If you want to use the handy-dandy quoting shortcut, just put ">" before the part of your post that contains a quote. That way this:
>Harry Potter likes carrots.
looks like this:
Harry Potter likes carrots.
