It's so not something I'd volunteer in small talk--have I just met up with crazy people, had I been sheltered, is it just LA? I boggle.
I link it's just an L.A. thing. Or an L.A.ish thing. I know people here who would probably do that too, but they're also the people who want to go to Medici, Sambuca or ZaZa on a weekend and have apartments in Plano.

We went out today to buy boxes, as the boxes my books are currently packed in are really too large for me to lug to the post office and besides they're so heavy that I'd have to pay surcharges. Got the boxes home, started transferring books from one of the old boxes into one of the new ones, and... they're exactly the same size. Dammit!

Because it's "nice" and away from us dirty hippies. You can have luxury on the cheap and not have to look at the tatooed freaks downtown. Quite a few of them have their own myspace pages. For instance here [link]
