Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Thrive to spite them

I asked once, they get books on loan and they have special label on them, then after the rush is over they are sent some place else so the library isn't stocked with too many copies of whatever.

Well they all had this strange label on it and I couldn't decipher it so I asked.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Like, they don't really need to keep three bazillion copies in regular rotation, once the rush is over

also, they are often donated to schools or sold at book sales. Which I always feel funny about 'cause then it looks like I stole the book from the library :)

There is a huge power outtage in SF - blown transformer - 30K without power. Some on the web are attributing the lj outtage to this issue - but I would think they would have some kind of backup on the servers - right?

Apparently not. They're down, craigslist is down.

Thrive to spite them

I just finished reading an article about Netflix's money problems and it said Typepad, livejournal, Craigslist, and Technorati are all effected by the outage.

When trying to hit lj, you now get -

LiveJournal is currently unavailable due to a power loss event in our data center. We've been working around the clock to restore all services and will continue to do so until full availability is restored.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, meara, isn't TJMaxx made of awesome? I just bought a 6 quart stainless saute pan from All-Clad there for 72 bucks! That store totally rocks.

eta: I cannot have lj & craigslist down at the same time. Aren't there, like, rules?

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

The most wankery I've come across has been not so much the fandom as non-Potterphiles scorning and sneering at everyone getting all het up.

JZ, for those people (who you know really want to read The Book, or they wouldn't make such a fuss) [link]
