Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Good morning, vw!

I just got the first load of laundry home, and there's something caked on half the clothes. Looks like the previous user of the machine used powder detergent, which they're not supposed to do. *snarl* Glad I didn't put this in the dryer. But now I have to wash this load again. I hate sharing commercial washers.

Oh, Zen, that's so frustrating! Blech.

How are you feeling, by the way?

Better. Gave up caffeine about two weeks ago, at my doctor's recommendation. I'm more relaxed and, oddly, more alert than I used to be.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Zen, I hate that! That's why I use liquid detergent.

vw, those are some cute boys!

not your mom's socks.

askye - awesome & go you. since when is there an age limit on learning or changing or, you know, becoming a cooler person? (except, perhaps [and hopefully only temporarily], in the rude-person's case.) I hope there's no age limit on snarkiness. if there is, don't tell me.

cable-knit toddler hoodie news... I have about 14 inches of the back done. the cable is pretty good & I love working with the yarn, but the pattern is a home-grown one by the lady at the yarn shop [sparky, cover your mom's eyes now, please]. It's an up-and-over pattern, and she drew me the next part of the instructions a few days ago. She sometimes works out a pattern in her head and then does the instructions by testing them on someone... in this case, moi. I just looked at it ... and I've looked at LOTS of stuff that I had to eventually translate into users guides, and this is unintelligible. But we're moving, and I'm too feh to go back and get her to clarify, um, everything. I'm at the point where I can knit a similar sweater in pieces and just ignore her instructions. I think I have an Interweave pattern somewhere that will work. Any insight from knittista's out there? I was already a little concerned that knitting right over the shoulders was going to create a stretch problem, so maybe this is a sign.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Popping in very quickly to wave and say hi and to respond to this:

I've been keeping Kristin in my thoughts all day. I hope it has been a calm restful day. {{Kristin}}

Thanks, Laura. I'm much more philosophical about the whole thing now and am hoping that it will all work out.

Okay, off to start packing things up at the old house.

Thanks, but I'm okay. Mom's going to help me, and I'm trying to be very zen about it. How are you?
