Spike: We got a history, him and me. Fred: What? Spike: It was a long time ago. He was a young Watcher, fresh out of the academy when we crossed paths. It was a, what-you-call battle of wills and blood was spilled. Vendettas were sworn. It was a whole-- Fred: My God you're so full of crap. Spike: Yeah. Okay.

Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

not your mom's socks.

askye - awesome & go you. since when is there an age limit on learning or changing or, you know, becoming a cooler person? (except, perhaps [and hopefully only temporarily], in the rude-person's case.) I hope there's no age limit on snarkiness. if there is, don't tell me.

cable-knit toddler hoodie news... I have about 14 inches of the back done. the cable is pretty good & I love working with the yarn, but the pattern is a home-grown one by the lady at the yarn shop [sparky, cover your mom's eyes now, please]. It's an up-and-over pattern, and she drew me the next part of the instructions a few days ago. She sometimes works out a pattern in her head and then does the instructions by testing them on someone... in this case, moi. I just looked at it ... and I've looked at LOTS of stuff that I had to eventually translate into users guides, and this is unintelligible. But we're moving, and I'm too feh to go back and get her to clarify, um, everything. I'm at the point where I can knit a similar sweater in pieces and just ignore her instructions. I think I have an Interweave pattern somewhere that will work. Any insight from knittista's out there? I was already a little concerned that knitting right over the shoulders was going to create a stretch problem, so maybe this is a sign.

Popping in very quickly to wave and say hi and to respond to this:

I've been keeping Kristin in my thoughts all day. I hope it has been a calm restful day. {{Kristin}}

Thanks, Laura. I'm much more philosophical about the whole thing now and am hoping that it will all work out.

Okay, off to start packing things up at the old house.

Thanks, but I'm okay. Mom's going to help me, and I'm trying to be very zen about it. How are you?

Oh, good. I'm glad to hear that.

How are you?

I'm really good, actually. Coming back has been really good for me. I wrote this in my LJ this morning:

It's been kind of weird being back here, but mostly good. My brother lives in the same apartment complex that I first lived in, so I know this area really well. Yesterday, I also drove through the area with my second apartment. It's all so different, but also so much the same. But, I'm not. I was telling that to mom this morning. I wasn't a quilter when I left Illinois, so I didn't know about this huge and marvelous store. I couldn't have appreciated it five years ago. And, now it's such a huge part of my life. I was a mess before, and I'm more well now. This is not my home. Boston is my home, and I'm glad for that. I'm proud of the person I've become. Much as I've struggled with a few things this week, with a few circumstances I'm not comfortable talking about, I'm not in that world anymore. I have a new world, and that world is better and brighter. And I'm not just talking about the fabric.

The petting zoo at the fair is how I discovered I'm allergic to llamas. I sneeze and get itchy eyes and all that stuff. It's fun to say to doctors, when they ask for allergies, "Poison ivy and llamas." Hubby gets to say, "Demerol and a very rare fern that only grows on the north slope of Oahu."

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Timelies!

David - sorry All-Stars are over. You will have to let me know game times for when you are in Alameda. We would love to come and cheer.

CJ turned 11 yesterday. We tried our best to spoil him rotten. We also stopped by and saw mom at the hospital. She is doing well, though we don't know when they will release her. She is hoping today, I'm thinking it will more likely be tomorrow.

I have read THE BOOK to the detriment of my current class. I missed a deadline on a paper that was due yesterday. Accckkk - must get that finished and in today.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Oh lord, I need a sanity check. On this coming Tuesday, Gerard Way (the lead singer for MCR) is going to be in Seattle, doing an interview at a location I can get to, for a radio station I'm not terribly fond of. It's at 6PM.

So, do I take a day off of work, go to West Seattle, and spend the afternoon/evening surrounded by geebling teens, just so I can see my rockstar crush object? I can't decide.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'm glad you're proud of the person you've become, vw. You deserve to be.

Teachers should schedule deadlines around the release of important books and films. I mean really!

llama allergy! too many l's. "There's been a high llama count this summer." "Yeah, I can hardly breathe for all the darn llamas."
