askye, your response was perfect. Assuming the little ninny actually remembers the conversation, in a few years s/he'll look back and wince.
X-posty with Natter: A handful of new Matilda pictures!
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Do you know how many librarians start school in there 40's - with a 20 year plan to retirement - that puts you right in range. and since there are so many librarians that you have to drag out kicking and screaming- I think we really like our work. ( says one who is 44 and still hasn't done jack about a masters)
JZ, I am ded. Absolutely ded, I say. Too. cute!
Oh, goodness! Too much cute!
Ded from the cute! When did she get so big? She looks like she is already ready to take over the world.
Sounds like a very exciting end to the season for Emmett. It will certainly be a season he will remember. And Matilda! Oh my, she is so expressive. What a cutiehead.
Go askye! When you look around graduate programs you see people of all ages. No rules, just right.
Beautiful job, Deena, and bookmarked of course.
I'm sitting at JFK waiting for my flight to board.

Safe uneventful travels to both of you.
I've been keeping Kristin in my thoughts all day. I hope it has been a calm restful day. {{Kristin}}
Sorry the guys lost, Hec.
Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains.
Emmett's friend Jack was temporarily distraught as he was the final batter for both of our losses, and popped up. But everybody played Pickle (a baseball game) for a half hour after the game so they weren't too crushed at all.
Pickle is basically a rundown drill - what happens when a runner gets caught between bases. (That player being in a Pickle.)
They've gotten into the habit of playing pickle after the games, win or lose. They kick off their cleats and run back and forth between two bases (made of kicked off cleats) and whoever gets tagged becomes a tagger. On the one hand, it's a drag for the parents because you've just spent four days driving out to Walnut Creek and you just want to go home. But on the other hand, (the bigger hand) it's just cool that win or lose, they're going to play Pickle and keep the game a game.
If baseball teaches you nothing else, it's that failure isn't the worst thing that can happen. Not Succeeding is a big part of baseball, and yet you can still do amazing things.
Go Emmett!

Yes, this.
Matilda is so big! And so adorable in her headgear and her gothbaby attire! Is she close to crawling now?
Stephen bought the HP book today, so claimed First Read as his right. I may not see him until sometime tomorrow morning.
Is she close to crawling now?
Sort of. I mean, she gets around. She does a sort of half crawl, half butt scoot. To describe: Both hands are down. Her right leg reaches out. Her left leg is back (bent at the knee) and she scoots forward. Every once in a while she'll advance both knees at the same time (The Classic Crawl) but abandons it after one or two advances.
Also, she cruises a lot and can pull herself up.
I have landed safely in Burbank. Now they just need a gate to open up for us.
