you should go tonight.
Yeah, I know. Me not going wouldn't hurt them at all, it would only hurt me and I should know by now that cutting off my nose to spite my face still makes my face hurt like sunuvabitch.
So I'll go. Although maybe not as elaborate as I was going to be.
Hey babe - when you were spulunking through the boxes, did you come across one with any fabric in it? Specifically black tulle?
Although, I'll tell you, I'm theeeese close to not even caring about tonight. I wouldn't want my dad subsidizing my reading habits.
We're going, dammit.
re: Fabric. Not that I recall. I can look later, though.
holy !@!# meara! [yes - I'm slow]. And madly skimming for Raq - ack?!
::ack - generally, with a 4:45 am shadow::
Raq, that's scary as hell about your neice. Good luck to her and the baby. May the crazy husband fall down a long flight of stairs.
Dress her in a pillowcase! House elf!
a 4:45 am shadow
Her name is Iris. I-r-i-s. You birthed her, silly.
What I hate about my new job: Professors who think I will drop everything to find sources to back up the statements they want to make in their articles. Especially when it means dealing with materials out of my specialty, which means possibly having to make field trips to other libraries.
I'm not their research assistant, although I will offer research assistance. I don't work for them, but I will work with them.
House Elf!
Maybe. Or, I could spray her hair pink and I could make her a t-shirt that says, "Don't call me Nymphadora, either!" and we could go as Lupin, Tonks, and Baby Tonks.
to find sources to back up the statements they want to make in their articles
they want you to do the bibliography write up too? and the abstract? you could just write the whole paper...
you could just write the whole paper...
I'm procrastinating on my own book, thank-you very much! I don't need anyone else's deadlines hanging over my head.
My grump by this is partly because this week one of the Deans came down to discuss with me how she'd like the librarians to take over the legal research component of the 1L program this coming semester -- without any additional compensation, of course.
Dear People,
We really don't sit here an twiddle our thumbs all day just waiting for you to give us work. We write, we teach, we manage millions of dollars in resources and we make it look easy.
Signed,
The Librarians
