Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Got to say, the weather has been gorgeous since I got here. I'm sitting outside on the train platform at 6:30PM, and it's sunny, breezy and beautiful. Nice of the weather gods to give me a break from the brutal heat for this trip.

Hil, the food sounds yum.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

The weather does sound nice. It's been pretty nice here today, too.

I also made corn muffins. Theme of tonight's dinner seems to be vaguely southwestern breakfast foods.

Now I'm on the train. Six giggly college-aged girls, all dressed up, have decided to sit all around me. Joy. I've already had to take pictures for them. On two cameras.

Oh dear. More information has surfaced.

It's a bachelorette party. They're all in their early to mid-twenties and they're chattering happily about dresses and hair and honeymoons. Gods do I feel jaded right now. Not old, exactly, but infinitely tired.

Sorry. I'll try to keep my meloncholy off the boards.

Because books.

Aw, they just did a big tribute to Ralph Kiner before tonight's Mets game. Ralph! Kiner's Korner! And Tom Seaver got up and spoke, and Yogi Berra was there... I'm such a sucker for that stuff.

::hugs Kristin tight::

::gropes her a little, too, quite lasciviously::

That'll teach the young and the giggly.

Anybody else in DC getting massive amounts of entertainment from the Late Night Shots / City Paper battle? [link] I've run into this crowd in Georgetown before, but hadn't known there was actually a website to organize them.

Also, they think they need to carry guns to go out in Adams Morgan?

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

t loves AmyLiz a lot

They just got off at one of the gated community areas pre-NYC. Hallelujah.

I'm feeling much better anyway. Reading a fun brain candy mystery (The Book of the Dead by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child) and listening to French pop music is good for the doldrums.

In the spirit of needing new lipstick to match my fantabulous hair, I went to Origins. And got a full makeover. Spent an outrageous sum of money (Acrossthehall!Teacher, who went with me, spent even more), bought fifty thousand things, and got a mini-massage.

So a fun day, but I think I'd better stay in tonight.

Edited: Why do I always start my posts with "So"?
