'Shindig'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Feel better, vw.
I actually sort of enjoy invoicing and filing. It's a finite project with a concrete end in sight. And the getting paid for participating part is kinda sweet.
I am Katerina in this. Dude, really!?! I can organize shit, sometimes do creative stuff, sometimes do simple tasks and work with lots of different industries? Not to mention not having to answer the same stupid questions for the forseeable future, but possibly getting new and exciting stupid questions!?!
Sign me up! (Googling like mad over here).
I mentioned elsewhere that I'm getting burnt out. It makes me sad because I like helping people and I like the work I do, but a lot of stuff outside of my area has been added, and while I initially enjoyed the education, there aren't enough hours even in a 45* hour work week to do it all, and I don't like it when what I feel like is a good thing to do is all boiled down to "we all know it's about the numbers."
*Actually, I worked it out the other day and it's more like 50+ and for my skills and less than $30,000, it gets a little depressing.
skim skim skimmety skim
I'm just popping in to pass on the WTF news that Seattle reached 97 degrees today, and now at 7:10 in the evening, it's still 94. Apparently, according to the website I check for weather, this not only makes us significantly warmer than San Fran or L.A, it also makes us warmer than Reno, NV.
Really, WTF?
I bet Cass got boiled in Portland.

This is an apt job description, really.

Another apt job description.
Plus, VAs can specialize in industries they enjoy.
serial...
God help me, I'm watching Beauty and the Beast and having a massive, comforting 80s flashback. I remember it being the most romantic thing ever...and, except for the shoulder pads and the...okay, kittylove...I'm relishing it.
eta: I didn't remember Vincent's resemblance to Dee Snyder...but hey, still romantic.
If she sucks like a hoover you might have to seek legal council.
Depends on the part of Canada I think.
Shit, her name is Alberta; she lives in Vancouver....
Oh Beej, BatB may have been my very first fandom. Vincent's voice always gave me shivers--the good kind.
sj, much ~ma to your friends and their little newborn.
sj, your friend and her baby are in my thought. So scary.
I need to renew my library books online. They might be overdue.
I have good news!
Talked to L earlier, and she sounds much better. Like she's able to step outside of it and get some perspective. She also talked to the lawyer yesterday, and while it looks to be around $2,000, it's doable and her grandparents will help her. She also found a therapist with experience in family violence.
It was nice having a conversation with her where she didn't break down even once.
Also some friends of ours from back home who live here now just had a baby!! His name is Aiden
