We seem to have acquired a cat.
He's an ugly thing. Well, not ugly, really, he's shorthaired, black and white, and actually fairly handsome, except for his tail. Which clearly was run over at some point, because he now has just a stump which was never taken care of, and is ... pretty gross.
Sara's been talking about him for weeks, and he's tame and friendly. Every time she runs out to him, he lets her pet him. She's been giving him water sometimes, and we've figured out he's been living in the bushes beside the porch.
Right now, we're sitting on the screened porch watching SPN by citronella light, and he's meowing and pawing at the door. And Stephen just fixed food and water and took it out to him.
I think his name shall be Winchester.
Oh, AmyLiz, how perfect! Or purrfect.

I think so. He's a survivor, and a little mysterious, not to mention a bit worse for the wear. Winchester fits.

Also, damaged. Don't forget damaged.
Definitely damaged. Poor baby.
I'm not sure where we're going with this, though. I mean, I don't think we're making him an indoor cat. I have no idea if he has fleas, and he needs to be seen by a vet. But we are going to feed and water him, for now.
Hey folks! More All-Star fun today. K-Bug and I went to the Futures game and the Celebrity/Legends softball game. Very fun.
AND I saw Dave Stewart. I was being a wuss about saying "Hi", but K-Bug convinced me to and he was VERY nice. We chatted for a moment, and K-Bug tried to take a camera phone picture (it didn't save, darn it). I'm still a burbling "I have bees" type mess.
Did I mention I met Vida Blue the other night. I didn't get to try for a picture with him, but he was also quite the gentleman.
More baseball stuff tomorrow, working FanFest again and then the family is meeting me there so we can all wander about.
Oh, and I got this new book at Barnes and Noble...it is pretty darned cool. I think some of you are familiar with the author. Squeeee!
And Advantage dose will take care of the fleas easily. He's gonna love being fed, watered and petted.
Lovely weekend. On Saturday, GF, Kristin, ND, and I went to the Huntington Library, which was gorgeous (and v. v. hot). GF and I are also coveting the Pasadena bungalow, so don't be surprised if we end up out that way at some point... Today GF and I went to my 2nd cousin's 6th bday party. She was so cute, telling her friends, "Those are my aunts!" (Totally pronounced ants - from the South over here.) Tonight I BBQd shrimp and green beans (with jalapeno, garlic, olive oil, water), and we made corn and deviled eggs. Now we are about to watch
Night of the Hunter
(loves it) and drink lemon drop martinis. I told you it was lovely!

That is an excellent night.
We're watching all the Harry Potter movies since they've been running on cable and Emmett's having a reheated burrito for dinner. I have no idea what JZ and I are eating.
