Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

What are people doing this weekend?

So far today, I cleaned my kitchen (well, made it a bit less messy), took a nap, and set up my new Tivo. (This is Tivo number 3. Tivo number 1 developed hard drive clicky sounds and stopped working after about two and a half years, and Tivo number 2 got the same problem after about two months. Here's hoping Tivo number 3 lasts a little bit longer.)

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Spent the whole day so far moving into my new (alas smaller) office at work, where I am right now. Tonight we'll be going with a friend and his two kids to see Ratatouille. Tomorrow, laundry and more daydreaming/researching/planning about the house. My current obsession: paint colors. The DH is colorblind, so other than checking to see if the colors look off to his feaky rods and cones, it's pretty much all me. White for the trim--but WHICH white? Yellow in the living room for sure, but do I go with a sunny yellow or a creamy one, or maybe something more butterscotch, which fits the period of the house? Ooh, I love colors.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

this weekend:

domestic rehabilitation - Which means I have a huge list of chores that needs to be done. It won't all get done- but I told DH that we will not be removing the carpet in the hall if the house isn't clean by next weekend

But we have a birthday party tonight and an early morning brunch tomorrow

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Good luck with Tivo #3, Hil.

Dave is sorting through the stuff in his office. I should probably be doing the same, but instead I am sorting through the shows saved on the DVR. I got rid of a lot of things before the move, but he just threw everything in boxes and moved it, so I'm a little bit ahead of him. We still have too much stuff. This place is a lot smaller than it looked empty.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I organized, sorted, cleaned and rearranged my jewelry. Put three new hooks up in the bathroom for the necklaces. Matched up all of my earrings. A few things are off to the side to be repaired. Others are in a baggie to find new homes.

I think my reward is going to be reading fic outside in the sun for a little bit. It's gorgeous outside and I have been twenty kinds of virtuous already today.

What are people doing this weekend?

Sweating. Thinking of someplace air conditioned to take my husband so his blood pressure and pulse don't get pushed too high.

Okay, that was lovely because it is very pretty but warm day. I think thirty minutes is about the max to stay out. Especially given how pale my legs are - ghostly.

Now a cool shower and then ... it's Saturday, maybe a nap.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I made the 1.5 hour round trip to get my hair cut. I also got up at 8 in order to run pre-cut, as I knew the Embarcadero would be a madhouse in the afternoon. If downtown is any indication, I was right.

Got home, had a huge lunch of cod and tater tots, napped, and now I'm getting ready for work. Whee.

Now tagless for your comfort.

We're back from my nephew's wedding. It's a four hour drive and we just stayed the night before, went to the ceremony and hit the road right after the reception due to toddler issues. That's a long trip. The bride was gorgeous and it was a sweet event.

DH is running in a five mile race tomorrow morning. The kids and I are going to SLEEP and PLAY for the rest of the weekend.

Trudy, that carry bag is ADORABLE. I hope Dallas enjoys it.

sj, I hope you feel better! Post vacation sickness sucks.

SA, breathe deep and count to 10.
