Steph's 4th sounds fun! GF and I got in a fight because she didn't want to go to co-workers house. I shamed her into going and we had a good time (I knew it would be fun). Fight is all over now. We saw fireworks from Marina del Rey through Malibu on the rooftop deck of co-worker's house in Venice. Was very cool.

Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Suzi -- would you be going to the one in Berkeley, or one of the SF ones?
I was good and woke up bright and early, and my cat tried her damnedest to make me get out of bed, but alas I fell back asleep.
Our 4th of July last night involved a very nice barbcue at ND's house that was small and low key, and the sound of some fireworks and occasional bright flashes from just out of sight, but no real firework visuals.
Also, I keep receiving mailers from the AARP. Like, they won't leave me alone. Today, they sent me one that included an actual plastic ID card with my name on it that I should carry until my real membership card arrives. It has an ID number. And my correct middle initial!
I don't understand. I'm 37. They're making me feel bad. I'm not that old. I want them to leave me alone, but I'm afraid to tell them so, lest they not let me in the club later. Like, I'll ask to join when I'm old enough and they'll say "No, no, you wanted us to 'leave you alone'. So here we are. This is us, one of the most powerful lobbying groups in the country, dedicated to gaining every benefit possible for people over 50, leaving you alone. We hope you're happy now. Oh, and by the way, they don't actually give out checks and medical care to people the AARP is 'leaving alone'."
Also also, S and I received our frameless picture card of Mama Jess and Baby Dylan in the mail today! So pretty!

Oh yeah, there was some chopped liver there. Thanks for reminding me, Kristin!

Berkeley, much easier to get to after work. Mom just called and asked if I could pick up something small, inexpensive, and "saucy" for her to add to her gift. I think she is afraid her gift is boring. Well, it is...but that was her choice. I'll see what I find.
This is for my cousin's fiance. The cousin was a ring bearer at my wedding. Well, he was supposed to be - he ended up sucking his thumb and refusing to walk up the aisle.
t thwaps Sean on the head
Seany? What's that mushy brown stuff on your head?
Huh. Anyone have any ideas on what my best feature is? I'm pretty sure it isn't, say, my calves, but I have no idea what it is.
