Below is a partial cross-post from my lj...it was a fantastic game...
Today was the Championship game for CJ's Little League team - the Brewers. The opposition - the Giants - had suffered only one loss the whole season. To our team.
So, today's game was amazing. It was an amazing game. Our boys were having fun and tried so hard to pull out the win. They play 6 innings at this age level and we were the visiting team. In the top of the 5th the score was 2-1 them and CJ was on deck (the next batter). We had two outs, runners on second and third, and the batter had a full count. Me, I'm in mom-freak out that my son is going to come to bat with two outs, bases loaded and the whole game on his shoulders. The batter struck out, so CJ is now going to start off the last inning.
In the top of the sixth, CJ got a nice hit into the shallow outfield, giving him a clean single. As the next batter struck out, he stole second. The following batter walked and CJ stole third. He was poised to score the tie run. The next batter struck out and we now have runners on second and third. Again. The pitcher walked the sixth batter, loading the bases so now some other kid is up with two outs, bases loaded, last chance to keep the game alive. He hit a nice line drive down the third base line and, giving credit where it is due, the Giant's third baseman made an amazing grab, ending the game.
Even though they lost, our kids kept their heads up the whole game and had FUN.
I've never seen turtle soup!
(BTW, neither have I ever seen Americone Dream. I have a friend who saw the label where it was supposed to be but the store was out. That is it. I think it doesn't really exist.)
I finally scored some last week. Very yum - much better than I expected. Now I want the peach.
I also got a big giant fennel plant and a hop plant out of this.
But I feel like I've got a bit of a science fair experiment in my house.
I saw the Americone Dream in pints at the B&J's store today, but it was hot out and I was walking and I thought it would probably melt before I got home.
I've never seen turtle soup!
It is the OTIC. don't even know what's in it - caramel, chocolate filled cone pieces and some praline type nuts. We buy it by the pint at our local store and they turn it into a sundae for us - super awesome (also cheaper that way!)
Wow, Susie, that is an amazing game. Way to go, CJ! Big hits and steals in late innings rock hard.
Yay and oh my, for Emmett today. What a pendulum of emotion, I'm sure.
Kinda tipsy right now. Okay, really tipsy. So off to bed soon.
Did a 5 mile group training walk this morning where I met lovely people and heard speeches by folks living with blood cancer and lymphoma. Yep. It's a good thing I'm fund raising for.
Got an enormous blister on my little toe...basically the entire toe IS a blister. No walking for a couple of days. owowowow. My entire energy is focused on that damned pain. Threw my gait off and made everything else hurt too.

Many thanks for the recommendations for Jonathan Creek. I am now desperately in love with that character and whoa how impressed am I that I did html code while really tipsy?
Went to a seminar last night where the coach recommended developing a loving relationship with the 'image' of money in our lives. My money now looks like Alan Davies and fights crime by being very, very clever and cute.
Okay. Not tipsy. Way more than that. Must sleep.
