Walking I get. But power walking? Why not just run for a shorter time?

Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Guh. I am broken. I went out to juvie hall today and was told of two 9 year old boys who are being housed in the infirmary (keeping them out of the general population because they are so little). I took them a box of books and comics and they were so so tiny. One of them seemed really scared and shy and took only a few books. The other was very talkative and took tons o' books. Seemed like he doesn't get much so this was like Santa Claus coming to visit. I think they are both runaways, meaning that home life is probably very crappy. They were being held in separate small rooms, each with a twin bed, toilet and sink. There was a probation officer sitting in the hallway between the two rooms watching them. I felt horrible for them. Poor wee boys.

Legion's home! Yay, Legion!

I hope your day improves, Jilli.

And since talk of tiny locked up guys killed the thread, here's something good: To celebrate finishing my first year of grad school, GF and I are leaving in the morning for 3 sun-filled days in San Simeon (central CA, near Hearst Castle). My plan is to sit on the beach under an umbrella sipping rum and Cokes and reading gossip magazines. HEAVEN!

Oh, those poor kids, Glam. That is just heartbreaking.

Enjoy your trip. Sounds like a lovely way to celebrate a year of grad school.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

which means tight tank top, velvet jacket, shortish skirt with a slit, and my very favoritest Steve Madden high heeled sandals (all black, of course). So very inappropriate for riding, and therefore I feel weird even walking into a shop.

but I'm sure that you'll get EXCELLENT service. And those sandals make your legs look incredible.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Hmm. I looked up motorcycles. More than I can really afford now, but less than I'd expected, at least for the smaller ones that seem to be the only ones I'd be able to ride, anyway. (I found a page with a list of motorcycles for short riders, including a few that are ridable for people under 5 feet.)

Here is my dad's childhood home [link] Looks like they've swanked it up a bit, though it was pretty well-to-do back in the day, too.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Just got back from picking up my check at school, where I found that the books I ordered came it! Damn, we got a literacy grant and I have about $4000 to spend on books and it's FUCKING AWESEOME!!!!!! I got some freaking great books for my little biblioteca; I'm really jazzed. I took some new ones to read over the weekend. I mean, I have to read them so I can reccomend them, right?!

Jesus, I can't belive Emmett is going to be a 6th grader. I wish you lived closer, Hec. He could do the summer school program at my school which is fun reading and learning in the mornings, and stuff like dance, soccer, swimming, martial arts, mini-golf, etc. in the afternoons.

Remember how I read till 6 a.m. and then got phone calls all friggin' morning long? Well, one of them interrupted a great dream. I was in Paris and a cute German gold-medalist Olympic swimmer was flirting with me. And the phone ringing totally lost me the dream, dammit. I'm pissed.

Free trip to Paris, dude.
