Funny thing about black and white. You mix it together and you get gray. And it doesn't matter how much white you try and put back in, you're never gonna get anything but gray.

Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

oh, dear - sj managed to cover comedy and tragedy in one post.

Fred Pete, I'm sorry about Teddy - it's so sad when a much loved pet is sick, especially since it seems the end is near. You've given him a lot of good years and just about everything a cat could want (short of world domination), and he must know he's loved. My sympathies.

What is even happening?

Any good suggestions for getting melted enamel off a stove burner?

Nail polish remover?

Trust my rage

can you scrape the enamel off with a razor blade or sharp knife?

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

{{{{Fred Pete, Hubs, and Teddy}}}} Much strength to you, sweetie.

Amused by the parenting talk, and happy to know that I 've got peeps who will advise when/if I get knocked up.

sj, I giggled at TCG's coffee mishap. Sorry!

Motorcycle class last night was good. The male/female ratio was about 60/40, which yay chicks on wheels, but I think all but 3 of the women were there because they want a scooter and not a bike. Where are the bad-ass women, I want to know? (Not that I'm knocking scooters, I just want to join a women's riding group. When I get a motorcycle. Which will be soon, hopefully.) (This is why I'm not getting pregnant now, you realize. Much like DJ. With less smoking and genteelness.) (I CAN HAZ PARENTHEZEZ)

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I'd second the new burner coil suggestion, if it's an option for your stove -- it may be possible to heat and scrape and not die of fumes, but still not be remotely worth the trouble when the coil thingies are interchangeable.

Hivemind question - I got my hair done again Saturday. Kept the color, but had her cut it shorter. Big mistake - it's now kind of a shaggy/choppy pixie ...which wouldn't be bad, I kind of like it. BUT ... I have this cowlick I han't been aware of - right at the crown of my head. Suggestions on how to tame the wild cowlick? I use product to get it to stay choppy, but the cowlick seems to defeat it. Next time, I'll tell her I was wrong, thank her for doing what I asked, and hope she can fix it.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

What product are you using?

You may need to use a combo. Gel works well, if you're willing to put up with some spikey bits.

Spikey bits are good (no, not THOSE Spike-y bits! tho those are good too). I'm using the Aveda ... something whip. Askye recommended it - and the problem is, if I use it and get my spikey bits, the cowlick tends to stick almost straight up. I'm having Alfalfa issues.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

So I'm trying to shift things around in my apartment so the landlord can help me move out some furniture. I'm looking for the magical expandable corner where I can put EIGHT BOXES OF BOOKS other than where they are right now, and I'm really just not seeing it. Sigh.

In other news, I went to get a new meds prescription, and the doctor told me I should get a boyfriend (not, I hasten to say, in an icky weird way, just... well, it was a little weird). So there you go, I have a boyfriend prescription. Where do I pick those up, again?

Emily, if I knew, I'd let you know. Is this covered under your health plan?
