I still expect my parents to be weirded out by the invisible internet friend angle, but they never are. My dad met some of you and thought you were very nice.
Whee, I have a pet sitter set up for my vacation (almost a week in Glacier, woohoo!), got tickets to the Police tonight, good day for me.
Actually, it would look really cool if you did the thing where you bleached the underside of your head and did it pink.
Ooh. It would. I still have some pink dye lying around that I got as a backup when I couldn't find purple. I think.
Face lotion
Saline solution
Makeup (foundation, cream blush, Smashbox primer)
Hair mousse
Hair spray
Will I be screwed on any of it? Any tips on containers?
Not meara, but everything needs to be in 3oz. or smaller containers, and everything needs to fit in a 1 qt. plastic bag. The mousse might be a problem, depending on the container. I got away with cream blush being in my makeup kit, but I don't know if that was a fluke.
If anyone's interested enough to ask, I'll say it was originally a Buffy board (though Firefly is what led me here).
I sometimes say, "my invisible friends"...but mostly 'online community'. Somehow, the organized nature of the word community seems to calm the chatroom/weirdo/stalker/loser concerns.
Ditto on the Firefly introduced me to other Buffy fans.
What I love is the progression of facial expressions from shock to delight to relief when people I would not expect say "ME TOO! I love Buffy!"
We really should have rings and/or a secret handshake. But I guess the turns of phrase will have to do.
Hairspray and/or mousse may be a problem from being pressurized, but I'm not at all sure about that.
"bitca", "shiny", "wee-puppet-man". They're all tells.
"bitca", "shiny", "wee-puppet-man". They're all tells.
And "foamy." Yesterday I friended a total stranger in LJ because her default icon was Gaiman's Death and "foamy" was in her list of interests.
(Okay, also because some of the others were Buffy, Serenity, Catholicism and stepparenting -- it was like looking at my somewhat cooler East Coast self's profile -- but "foamy" was the word that got me to click the clicky button on a stranger.)
I didn't latch on to "foamy" until I came here. It still doesn't roll off my tongue like "shiny" does. Shiny's a good one too because I actually used it (in proper context) before I ever saw Firefly so the mundanes don't even notice and the Firefly fans go, "perk?"
"shiny"
coughs
Some of us were using "shiny" in that sort of context LONG before Buffy or Firefly. IJS.
Ginger, my toe has a nice little purple stripe on the underside, where the toe joins the foot.
It is much bigger now than it was this morning, as I had to go out and do some walking. Ow.
Sean--a friend says the simplest way to be sure a bone is broken is to touch a humming tuning fork to it.
I'm not saying you should, because the positive result is supposed to be that it hurts like a mofo. But if you do, I will note your sacrifice for science, since we can't find anyone who's actually tried it yet.
Had I a tuning fork, I would gladly bite down on a stick or something and try this for you.
In the interest of scientific discovery.
Yes, I am a total wuss about pain, but I can occasionally share your scientific curiousity about one's own pains and injuries.
