[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I work for an engineering company. There is a guy a couple of cubes over from me who is on the phone having an "earth is flat" conversation. He seems to be in support of the idea. WTF?

Because books.

I don't suppose calling people and saying, "I can haz monies now?" is gonna cut it, huh?

You could try sheers, although that might be even creepier - vaguely seen images moving around the room being worse than your own reflection.

Yeah, that sounds spooky.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hec, sorry about the loss--losing seasons are always a relief to have over.

Hey! We had a winning season. 9-6 regular season, and a very respectable 2-2 showing in the playoffs.

It's just the playoff schedule was brutal with games every other day, and Emmett's tournament schedule is packed for the next couple weeks.

It just gets to be a grind towards the end.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Ooch -- I just checked Jess's Twitter page [link] -- the doctors are thinking 4 a.m.? Poor noodles, all of them! Man, I hope she's able to get some rest between now and then. Even if she doesn't actually sleep, just slounging for a while will help.

Oops! Sorry! That is respectable. I think I just register the posted losses in my head because I know the feeling of disappointment so well (having spent four seasons on a sucktastic softball team). The grind is a PITA, after awhile.

Oops! Sorry!

De nada. Actually our team was fine with the loss. We surprised ourselves by winning on Sunday with a lot of our less stellar players having stellar games. So it was just gravy to move on one step deeper.

After the game Emmett and Arlo played on the field with Arlo's little brother Finn for about an hour. They pitched a tennis ball to him, and little Finn (who just finished his first single A season) whacked it into the field and ran around the bases and they timed their throws to home so that he'd just barely get in past the sweep tag.

4am seems about right if she is just starting. First laborcakes. Yes, I hope she can rest. I was out cold sleeping between contractions. Since we took video of the process it was funny to watch me all ouch!breathe!ouch, then me asleep while mom and Brendon chat and hang out, then me all ouch!breathe!ouch, repeat a few billion times. I had no idea I was getting so much shut eye during the process.

Congrats to Emmett and the rest of the kids and parents for a good season. Playoffs are really tough. Particularly when they schedule so tightly and you can't use any of the pitchers. A bunch of our kids, parents, and coaches are going tonight to see the Marlins/Indians game together. It should be fun. They were a nice bunch.

Also, on birthing, 100% if I had it to do over again (heaven forbid) I would insist on a home birth. Still annoyed that I let them talk me out of it. I wanted all my sisters and sister-in-laws and girlfriends with me in my own bedroom. I hated going to the hospital.

OMG, again.

Dude, you are in a cube. As a cube dweller, hour long personal phone calls are NOT COOL. Find an office with a door if you must...I don't need to know about your wacked out flat earth theories, your kids, you golf clubs, your medical issues OR your vacation plans. And yet - apparently now I do. Ahhh, your son's birthday is the 22nd? How nice. STFU!!!!

No love, Me
