Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

C'mon wee!Alter!

sj, when I had mirrors everywhere, I just hung curtains in front of them. Easy-peasy, and pretty, too!

sj, I'm glad you're all settled. Now, no more moving for a while! (As if you need me to say that.)

We're hoping two years and then we can maye buy something. With luck this will be our last rental property. Our last place was supposed to be, until the day we moved in and the landlord informed us she was selling it. I'm quite glad to be done with her. Hopefully she doesn't give us any problems about giving us our deposit back.

This is a great idea! Did you put a rod up or just tack them up somehow?

Now tagless for your comfort.

Yay for Little Alter making his own schedule! Not being induced is definitely preferable. Easy delivery~ma, Jessica!

A world of this! Go Wee Alter, Go!

We have found a preschool for Owen. After visiting five (or was it six?). I've got a good gut feeling about this one, the set up seemed perfect and the director was awesome and willing to work with me regarding Owen's potty training (if he's not 100% trained in the fall). This is a huge relief.

Hec, sorry about the loss--losing seasons are always a relief to have over.

Suzi, ugh.

Vortex, ugh.

Aimee, must try one of those sandwiches.

sj, mirrors on doors always freak me out.

Aimee, that sandwich sounds yummy, and now I'm hungry. I've never heard of Barry's Bagels.

Cashmere, that's great news! I hope this preschool works out for you and Owen.

How insane will TCG think I am if I cover up all the mirrored closets with curtains and then put a full length mirror on the bathroom door to check my clothes? He freaks because I move into a place and immediately start making lists of what it needs.

I like the rods.

t /twelve

Seriously, I bought pretty rods and velvet curtains and put them up - it meant I had to open the curtain if I needed to use the closet, but it looked so much better.

offers to smite anyone bothering any Bitch today. PMS is a powerful thing.

I have pretty black iron rods that I didn't get to use in my last place, but I think I need to buy new curtains. Would sheers look bad over the closet mirrors? Not cover up the mirror part enough?

I think it depends on your comfort level - maybe tack up a couple sheers and see how you like it? I used velvet because it was in our bedroom and I cannot stand having my reflection in my sightline if I'm trying to go to sleep. (Plus, bad feng shui!)

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Conversation with Boss:

Him: Offer on new apartment house was just accepted. I need you to shop for loans at blah blah blah mortgage lending value cakes. Try X and if that doesn't work, we'll try Y. [pause] I've never had anyone look for a loan for me before. This will be interesting.

Me: I've never looked for a loan before so yeah...interesting.

I don't suppose calling people and saying, "I can haz monies now?" is gonna cut it, huh?

Him: Bwhahahahahahahaha! Just do your best.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

sj, when I was in college I draped my entire room in Indian print bedspreads hung on curtain rods - gave a nice feeling to the room and it was fairly easy. You could try sheers, although that might be even creepier - vaguely seen images moving around the room being worse than your own reflection.

The Indian prints sound lovely, but I don't think they would really match the rest of the apartment. I'll see what I can find. There's a great home outlet store in RI that always has interesting things, and Mom is dying for some shopping, since we haven't had any time to shop with the move.
