Hi! I'm under the dryer at the salon. My new hair is going to include...well, I'll leave that as a surprise for later. I'm very excited for both new cut and new color. I'm also excited about the fact that I only have another day-and-a-half of grading left for the WHOLE YEAR. Whee!

Right now I'm watching Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo, which is one some digital cable channel I hadn't heard of before. Omigosh! The hair! the outfits! It's a real 80s flashback.
Kristin! You were in my dream last night! It was not, sadly, porny. You were showing me your apartment and your desk, and teaching me how to grade papers for you.
It was a cute apartment, though.
We've now sailed past "Open Arms," "Baby, I'ma Want You," and "Summer Breeze." I feel a need to find my old iron-on rainbow t-shirts and eat some Pop Rocks.
In other noise news, we have new neighbors across the street. Their two dogs are outside 24/7 -- no joke, unless it's raining. They installed an invisible fence, which does not prevent the dogs from running right up to the buzz-zone and barking ferociously at anything and anyone who walks by. I heard the mailman yelling at the homeowner last week that he wouldn't deliver the mail unless the dogs are inside -- the mailbox is just outside the buzz zone. They've woken up us barking at four in the morning at least three times, which is when I believe the newspaper gets delivered. FOUR in the morning.
Today, someone attempted to go to their house, and wouldn't get out of his car, presumably because of the dogs. Instead, he honked his horn off and on for at least twenty minutes, which woke me up. A couple of times he let loose with the continuous beep, never letting up on the horn. He also yelled something a couple of times, but no one ever came out of the house. As you can imagine, the dogs, however, went nuts.
They're barking now, and have been the entire time I've been typing. Welcome to the neighborhood, assholes.
Amy I have advice for you, because Mom had to deal with this.
Check out your city's laws about animal control and noise pollution. There are usually laws about dogs barking. Also check out the laws about animal welfare, there are laws about that too.
You might want to talk to the neighbors first and if that doesn't work then contact the city about what steps you can take.
Maybe talk to your other neighbors and see if everyone is being bothered and maybe you can sort of band together and make a group complaint.

Yep, definitely the same thing. Seems to be all virus, too, so none of those wonderful antibiotics for me. Sigh. And I don't know how much more chamomile tea I can drink.
Tomorrow is another day. We'll both be getting better then, right? This will go away? Feel better!!

Not completely settled in yet. The movers are coming for the books and the furniture on Tuesday, and I still have quite a few books and random stuff to pack between now and then.
