Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
It's attacked my sinuses, my chest, my ears ..
Yep, definitely the same thing. Seems to be all virus, too, so none of those wonderful antibiotics for me. Sigh. And I don't know how much more chamomile tea I can drink.
Tomorrow is another day. We'll both be getting better then, right? This will go away? Feel better!!
SJ I'm so glad you and teacup guy are getting settled into your place.
Not completely settled in yet. The movers are coming for the books and the furniture on Tuesday, and I still have quite a few books and random stuff to pack between now and then.
Thanks, askye! I have to do something. Getting up in the middle of the night is Not Okay unless it's one of my kids who needs me.
We'll both be getting better then, right? This will go away?
Oh, I hope so.
In Soft Rock news, "What a Fool Believes" by the Doobie Brothers was just on, and all I could think upon seeing bearded, gruff Michael McDonald was that I might now know where my Jeffrey Dean Morgan/John Winchester love comes from.
See, whereas I have no one to blame but myself for the congestion and pain in my head.
Nah. Fuck that. I BLAME HER. BOO.
we have new neighbors across the street.
oh amyliz - those aren't neighbors... whatever you're sick with has sent them and if you take the right medicine, they'll go away -poof- with the congestion.
Tea:
AmyLiz, you have my sympathy on the dogs. I hope they quiet down soon or the neighbors start keeping them inside. Today, at the new place, we could hear kids crying and playing, but I didn't care because it wasn't a dog barking non-stop or the crazy people upstairs screaming at each other.
I had a lovely day with Suzi at Arlington Nat'l Cemetery and the museums. Speaking of barking dogs, my dogs are barking but I doubt that it is bothering my neighbors.
What Suzi and I learned at Arlington: average age of someone buried there is (whitefont for guessers): 19!
My DH made dinner for me and our houseguest (a frisbee player friend of his who quit his job in October and has been traveling the country in a van) and I think we're about to plop ourselves on the couch and watch BSG.
Sox, I hope you're finding something there to like.
AmyLiz, when we first moved in 8 years ago, Mac had issues with the new neighborhood. She had to establish her territory and I wasn't clear on our local dog/noise ordinances. A few nasty words from my neighbors and an early morning visit the first week we moved in opened my eyes to the problem. Mac would bark at anyone walking by our fenced back yard when I let her out in the morning and she would also wake us up when our morning paper was delivered. She eventually got used to the rhythm of the foot traffic in the neighborhood and we stopped our morning paper delivery.
I hope for your sake that the dogs will settle in. But you should contact the local animal control officer who can fill you in on any ordinances and, if you don't feel comfortable talking to the new neighbors, they can make a visit and make sure the new folks know the law and that they need to control their pets' noise level.
It just bothers me that the dogs are left outside all day and ALL NIGHT. Seriously. The owners work all day, and then they come home and essentially ignore them. Why do they even have dogs? Of course, the dogs wouldn't be barking at three or four a.m. if they were inside.
Lucy is a barker, so I'm not completely without sympathy. Dogs bark, I get that. But these dogs sound like they're snarling, and if you get too close to the property they jump like they'd attack if the invisible fence wasn't on.
