Waves to Cindy and the mom-insomnia shift!
11, huh? Sixth grade? I think it's brief innocent crushing before the roiling ugliness of middle school/puberty is upon them. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Buffy ,'Potential'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Fifth grade! (We do middle school a year early in our town, because they built these teeny tiny elementary schools, and there's no room for our fifth graders).

Puberty is already upon my son. There are outward manifestations, and his pediatrician confirmed it at his most recent check up. Still, he's very much in the innocent crush phase and judging by his personality, I suspect he'll stay there for quite some time, still. We had a good time watching them. The pack-like casing was rather amusing.
Were you woken up by a child, flea, or are you just up because your body doesn't remember sleep? I fell asleep really early on the couch. I blame the Ativan. I don't even think I saw the kids to bed. I suspect Scott tried to rouse me to bring me to bed, but I don't remember a thing. He seems to have covered me and left me there. I woke up around 4:45. If I had been in my bed, I suspect I'd still be asleep.
The baby woke and nursed at about 4:45. If I'm up at 5 I tend to be up for the day, unless I'm unusually destroyed. I could probably get back to sleep right now, but the baby will be up for the day in the next half-hour, so it's not worth it.
I still do that, even though no one is waking me. If I wake up close to 5:00am, I stay up and enjoy the quiet. Besides, last night I was probably asleep before 9:00pm. The last thing I remember is watching Ned's Declassified Middle School Survival Guide with the kids.
Am very jealous of the DCistas right now! and the Baltimorefistas. you're there and I'm not. hope you have a great, cooler, weekend!
flea - we're the same way. We can remember (sort of) sleeping in, but if Iris is up, eeeeveryone is up. It's been that way since the day she was born. I pass you coffee through the internets.
Oh, how I love waking up to Buffista kids stories. They're all growing up too fast!
Sox, there's a dragon boat regatta on the Schuykill today. If you aren't totally entrenched in the old man houses you might want to go. [link]
I'm off to see Tut's stuff.
Gronk. This is the part of the move where I start to panick that it's not going to all get done in time. I grateful that Mom and stepdad are coming to help today because I'm so sore and not being very useful.
MmmMmmMmmmm FredPete and Hubs took me out for breakfast. Good food and wonderful company. Buffistas are teh best!!!!
Now to pack. Blech. I hate this part. But following packing is meeting up with Sparky and touristing and then going home.
Side note - I love tech. I checked into my flight, but I don't have a printer here, so I saved my boarding pass as a pdf, mailed it to Sparky and she is going to bring me the hard copy.
Still no electricity, although the Electric Company claims they turned it on last night.
