All right, yes, date and shop and hang out and go to school and save the world from unspeakable demons. You know, I wanna do girlie stuff!

Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

In meme rant/whine news...I've made a lot of progress in the past two days, but nowhere near as much as I wanted to. I still have 6 explications and ALL of my finals left to grade. And all of the comments to write, but I was planning to do those over the weekend anyway. Feh. Anyway, the reason why is not entirely my norm. I have been consumed by epic craft project creating bookmarks for my students. As said craft project is way more fun than grading, it overshadowed much of my yesterday. I will have to post pictures and describe the process when I finish--what started out as a great idea for a quick, cheap, yet personal present given to me by another online friend turned into a long, really NOT cheap, but very personal quest.

ND says that he is going to send hate mail to said online friend since this quest involved him going to craft stores and sitting around Kinkos at midnight. Not to mention helping me to tie embroidery thread through little beaded initials.

What is even happening?

Kristin, I think that's a beautiful bob.

I've found more short cuts...

messy pixie: [link]

longer messy pixie (too long for me, I think): [link]

almost a pixie shag: [link]

Hec calls this a sort of Cashmere: [link]

I think Julia might get this one: [link]

very posh (also a Hec rec): [link]

very pretty (a Hec rec) but maybe a bit too fairy-ish for me: [link]

Shit's all sorts of different now.

drops into thread

Spent from 10am - 4:30pm helping with prep for a caterer that my sister used to work for. It's the first official work I have done since March 31. It was all on my feet and very tedious. Glad for the work and the money, but ooof! am I tired. I told Joe I was spending some my money on a pedicure and an eyebrow waxing.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

plus they have the wondrous Greg Maddux.

He's on the Padres this year.

Cindy, I think many of those styles would work for you. I say print out the top five and take them into your stylist for a Dialogue.

I don't think that last is too fairyish for you!

So, Emmett missed seeing a no hitter by Curt Schilling (one of his favorite players) by one out. That's right - Schill pitched 8 2/3rds innings of no hit baseball, and then the A's got one single. Then Schilling struck out the last batter.

That's what my "hmmm" was about. I could see that Schilling was on, and Oakland is the best stadium for a no-no in baseball. I kind of had a feeling he might. And he almost did.

Emmett's very pissed at Shannon Stewart now. (The A's player who broke up the no hitter.)

One. Out. Away.

Because books.

JZ's baseball post makes me want to touch the hem of her robe adoringly.

Also? I once sold actual VINYL record albums to Joe Torre, who is indeed awesome, even though I am a diehard Mets fan.

Cindy, I like the first cut in the second batch of pictures, although I think it could take a lot of product. I think I liked the first one in the first batch, too -- the Plei one looked like you have to have really thick hair. (Which you might; I don't.) I also liked the last one in the first set, and I think you could totally carry it off.

Sox! Choose West Chester! Go West Chester! Although, it looks like any way you go we could definitely consider ourselves "neighbors" in the Buffista sense of the word. And tell me more about the Arts and Crafts colony after you check it out -- that sounds really interesting.

They took pity on me and my sore throat and general crankiness tonight, and let me go home early from work. I wish I could simply hustle pool for a living. So much more enjoyable than retail. And I could even drink and smoke while I was on the clock!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

JZ's baseball post makes me want to touch the hem of her robe adoringly.

Yes, this. Except, Emmett can root for the Red Sox anytime, because he's obviously very good luck.
