I am not...I am not the damsel in distress. I am not some case. I have to work this. I've lived in a cave for 5 years in a world where they killed my kind like cattle. I am not going to be cut down by some monster flu. I am better than that. What a wonder...how very scared I am.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I like the BQs. They're good natured and race well (except when they do the eyerolly things like miss the detour or forget the gps thingie). They're fun to watch.

Art Crawl!!!

They really seem to be enjoying themselves -- which neither of the remaining teams seem to and they aren't taking everything about the race as some sort of sign or morality/immorality.

Much speculation that the BQs mess up and Charla/Mirna win. I hope not. (Speculation based on the season long 'evil' edit the BQs have been getting and the reverse edit on Charla/Mirna.)

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Charla is usually the more clueful of her duo, but I kept having to laugh at the poor Navy guy who had to remind her again and again that she shouldn't touch the screen of the GPS device....

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

"Ma'am. I said you're not supposed to touch the screen. Ma'am. Don't touch the screen. Not at all. Ma'am...." Poor guy.

I can't imagine Charla and Mirna winning -- that would be a travesty!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Though when the woman pointed out to Danielle that she might be hitting the buttons on the sides of the GPS, I wondered if that was maybe the problem - and either Charla didn't notice the buttons there or wasn't able to hold the thing without touching them.

IIRC, depending on what type of dwarfism she has, her hands may be unusually proportioned, which I suppose could add to the problem -- perhaps the only way she could get a grip on it was the "wrong" way. But given how flustered she seemed, it could just be panic-stupidity.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Charla's a less offensively irritating person than Mirna, but neither of them has ever struck me as being all that bright. I just don't think she was paying attention when the guy was explaining how to use the navigator.

Also quite possible.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah. I may be being unkind, but her responses when that guy said that were always, yeah okay. Not, let me see, what am I touching? I just think she was panicky and not really paying much attention.

Liese, I think you're right. But man, Danielle is the one who really melted down -- that was pitiful.
