Fred: The size and depth of the wound indicate a female vampire. Harmony: Or gay! Fred: Um…it doesn't really work like that.

Experimental TV: Comedy

This thread is part of an experiment to determine Buffistas' interest in television discussion. It will close on June 1st, 2007, after which there will be a brief skirmish to sort out what we want to do next. This thread is for discussion of all comedy, regardless of airing station. [NAFDA]

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Um.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Um.

Are you a quirky technie, Dana? Are you up to wacky hijinks and comic misunderstandings?

It's just a miracle how computers get fixed, isn't it? You leave a coin on the doorstep, and the computer fairies come during the night when no one is around!

Art Crawl!!!

A coin? I thought it was a bowl of milk. Huh, that explains ALOT.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Around here we leave the tech fairies whiskey. Which explains a lot.

In other news, seems "The Office" is back for 30 episodes. Which is a lot. "Scrubs," alas, is only back for 18.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

The UK IT Crowd was hilarious. Like, split your sides funny. And so, so true. Though I thought they were making a second series--I wonder if they still will with a couple of the actors going to the US version?

I am concerned about the transition. But I wait in hope.

follow-up, huh, I'm surprised Scrubs is back at all. I guess Zach worked out his contract negotiations. Isn't it a truncated season this year too? I almost think they work better with shorter timeframes to work in.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

based on the critically acclaimed British comedy

The reviews I saw hated it. Was also a ratings bomb for Channel 4, so surprised it sold abroad.

I watched the first episode, chuckled once, then never returned. I work in IT, though -- whilst the idea was good, it didn't remind me of The Office, which is good observation comedy. I'd love to do a script for The IT Crowd, as I really believe it could be great.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Daaaaamn. I'm...damn! Those guys are going to be working their asses off. Will there be no hiatuses or something?? I mean, that's a LOT! Plus, four hourlongs! I hope this doesn't lead to badness. Change is scary!

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Plus, four hourlongs!

Is it 30 episodes, or 30 half hours (i.e. 15 hours total)? In other words, I'm wondering if the hour long episodes count as 2 towards the total count of 30.
