And Mer ... I think when Derek talked to her and told her she was the love of his life and asked for a commitment, she put him off, delaying losing him, but when she was at the altar and told people "It's off. It's all off," that was a final acknowlegement that that she wasn't going to - or couldn't - make a commitment.

I read it as Christina being free of all the things that came with loving Burke that she was ambivalent about - the relationship, the family, the settled life, the neat apartment, the wedding. All the conventional things women are supposed to want, or provide, that were never a part of her.
I read it this way too, but also that she's not as sure as she would like to be that she wants to be free of all of those things.
At one time, I considered writing a mistaken identity fic with the two Eric Foremans. Or possibly an Angel Martin(Rockford Files) Vamp Angel one.(Bonus cause they both live, so to speak, in L.A.)
I kind of liked the ambiguity of Christina's breakdown, maybe she wasn't sure what she meant either.
Given that GA-time is much like Lost-time - Izzy's declaration of love for George is even worse. I mean, it was probably what -- six months ago that she risked her career and Bailey's career to get Denny a heart? Probably less than 4 months ago that she was so distraught about his death that she let that check for 8 million dollars just sit on the fridge forever.
And it also makes Derek's lack of understanding for Mere who has w/in a very short period of time lost her mother and her stepmother and had her father repudiate her. Mere totally should be allowed to be messed up about that.
I think it was less than 6 months ago. All three seasons are 1 year.
Wait! From zap2it:
CBS cast Australian Alex O'Loughlin ("The Shield") as its vampire P.I. in "Moonlight" and Englishman Jack Davenport ("Coupling") in the midseason show "Swingtown."
(Bold is mine.)
Oh, I did some crazy math and I think that season 3 began five months ago.
Sandra Oh is so awesome, she makes me forgive a lot of Shonda Rimes's bullshit.
All three seasons are 1 year.
Does that work with Bailey's pregnancy? I never really thought about it being one year, but I guess it would have to be.
