I found Torchwood tough to watch in some ways. But I kept seeing Beth as Beth. And I've never been comfortable with plotlines in which someone is doomed because of something over which they never had any control whatsoever.
Though Ianto's comment about making the end of the world worse was a classic.

I feel like I missed something in the Torchwood from Saturday. The guy blew up at the military facility and suddenly the threat was over? What happened to all the other sleeper agents?

The other ones that were activated blew themselves up, I think. There was the woman who walked into the building, causing BIG BOOM, and...I forget who the fourth one was.
The fourth was the paramedic who blew up the oil tanker truck.
I thought that the paramedic walked away from that - but if that was the only thing he was supposed to do - maybe they self-destruct.
I thought he put the bomb on the truck and stood next to it when it blew up. He would have had to run damn fast to get away from that big of an explosion, and he wasn't moving at all, IIRC.
Was it one of those slow-motion explosions? Those are pretty easy to outrun....
