I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Owen didn't have sex with both of them, it was a ruse to help him escape.

Oh, I don't know. I thought he totally had sex with both of them. He didn't kiss the boyfriend and run; he sprayed him with the pheremone, knowing that it made him irresistable.

Really? Huh, OK. I was pretty sure he scarpered as soon as he could. I could rewatch, but I have very little desire to.

New episode tonight, anyway!

Thrive to spite them

I haven't watched the episode in a while, but his attitude was like, oh okay I'll dose you and have both of you. It was away to get out of dealing with the guy but it didn't seem like Owen was uncomfortable with the idea of shagging both of them.

I'd say that Owen definitely prefers women but doesn't mind a trip to boyland on occasion.

Yeah, he sprayed, the boyfriend said, "I'm going to have you," and Owen called for a taxi -- not, I thought, in a "get me out of here!" kind of way but rather in an "excellent!" kind of way.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I have a friend who is sexual in the way that Jack is sexual. He just lives sensually. If anybody ever asked him, he'd say yes. Slut, sure, but mostly he was just a guy who enjoyed his sexuality. And it just kinda emanated from him all the time, and people responded.

So every interaction that everyone ever had was charged with sexual tension, especially from the outside looking in. That's kinda the way I see Jack.

Last series' shooting lesson? Totally hot. Does it indicate a specific preference for Gwen? I dunno that it does, necessarily, although it might. I just think Jack sees most situations as sexually charged, and rolls with it.

yeah, he looked at the camera and wiggled his eyebrows or winked or something.

There was also some background material from the Torchwood Hub website last year that indicated Owen got into trouble as an M.D. because he was sleeping with patients, both female and male.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Last series' shooting lesson? Totally hot.

See, I watched that scene and was like, This is how British people get their illicit thrills, isn't it? Because violence is more censored, and guns are so rare IRL, it was just very... gun-porny, and not nearly as porn-porny as I think it would have been if it had been done for an American series.

Yeah, I had some... goggle trouble, if you will, with that scene. Through understanding-of-the-character goggles, it looked like exactly what you're describing -- generally sensual person, rolls with the tension inherent in the situation. Through narrative-TV-script-conventions goggles, it looked like a JackNGwen4ev! kind of thing. On the other hand, maybe I'm too jaded and underestimating the writers. That'd be lovely.
