What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I don't mind the voiceover! Although it's an overused technique, I really liked her closing monologue.

yeah. i love this show.

It was way better than the pilot.

The whole mimicry scene outside Carlos' house was awesome.

That was terribly amusing.

I cracked up hysterically when I noticed that the address of the computer store was 1337.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Her social skills are a bit too erratic, though: she was awkward but not offputting in the first high-school scenes in the pilot; now all of a sudden she can't communicate with anyone?

Yeah, that's my other complaint. She's got to be able to fake it somehow, because we already saw her doing it. Even if she can only act like a teenager, that would have been perfect for the scene where they ran away from the cop.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I liked the SCC pilot better than the 2nd ep, but it was still enjoyable. I agree that there is too much narration. I loved both scenes with the Latina (did they say her name?) and Cameron, especially the makeover. Ha!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I figure "high school student" was one of her presets, but in situations she's not programmed for she's going to seem awkward and robotic. t /wank

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I figure "high school student" was one of her presets, but in situations she's not programmed for she's going to seem awkward and robotic. </wank>

I was kinda' doing the same wank myself - I figure in their attempt to enable her to pass as human, it's gonna be kind of hit-and-miss.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

If they can let up on the emo (and I speak mostly of this new character of Sarah) and the voiceover, I may just keep this show. There's still too much handwringing and the mother-son dynamic is still hitting awkward beats. It's not like she hadn't seen her son for three years because she just got out of a mental institution.

Speaking of emo, John's strong desire for a father coupled with his violent reaction said father figure reached epicly psychotic and WTF?! proportions. And yet, I kinda got it. I think I can understand it from him more, cuz he's still a boy, but both of them should be a lot tougher than this. "Mommy, make the mean robots stop coming after me!" Seriously? That's how they propelled the thrust of the show?

ETA that's how I was wanking the have and lack of social skills. The highschool persona was just for that one mission in that school. That situation is gone, so is the persona.

But I don't think that explains moments like at the end of the pilot where she's all coy and munching on potato chips.

Ratings from PI Feedback:

In time period-premiere news, Fox drama Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles got off to a positive start, with 10.07 million viewers (#2) and a 4.3/10 among adults 18-49 (#2) from 9-10 p.m. While this may pale in comparison to its preview just one day earlier (Viewers: 18.36 million; A18-49: 7.7/18 on Jan. 13 out of the Giants/Cowboys NFL match-up), it did build from lead-in Prison Break (Viewers: #4, 7.89 million; A18-49: #2, 3.4/ 8 at 8 p.m.) by 2.18 million viewers and 26 percent among adults 18-49.

Still looking pretty good. The drop-off was expected.

Between that, the bangs, and his last name I felt like I was having a traumatic flashback to Angel season 3.
