"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Caught up on the last two CHUCKs, and damn I'm really liking this show a lot. Feel a bit bad for Casey, but not if he's hardcore enough to off Chuck without hesitation or remorse.

Also, there was a complete lift of a line from FULL METAL JACKET in one of the two (can't remember which) - the "Flush out your headgear, new guy" line.

Our wings are not tired.

I enjoyed it too, quester. Still need to watch the whole thing though since I saw bits and pieces. It came together. Not awesome, but above the bar for SciFi movies. I ended up caring. What more can I ask for?

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

"Flush out your headgear, new guy"

this just reminded me of when my DI told me to put my "helmet in the dirt" and so I took it off and put it in the dirt. Oh, how everyone laughed (translated: put your head on the ground, we were setting off claymore mines).

ION, I don't watch Chuck.

Art Crawl!!!

I enjoyed it too. I wish that it had been better but it was better than most SciFi movies for sure. (I'm kind of loving the new c.s.i.-y ads for SciFi's Saturday movies.)

if only they made a bad Saturday night sci-fi movie that looked as good as those ads! I'd totally watch them.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The story in Tin Man was pretty good. The dialogue was just awful.

The woman who played Azkadoodly also sucked. The girl that played young Azkadoodly was about ten times better.

Zooey was good. Alan was good. Anvils dropped like a sunshower of anvils. Now with iron supplements.

Our wings are not tired.

Tin Man wasn't as bad as I feared and wasn't as good as I'd hoped.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Really? You thought Deschanel was good? I thought she was stoned throughout the whole thing. And at the end of the second part, my reaction was a sort of spiteful, "Yeah. It is your fault." I guess I'm just not connecting with her somehow.

But don't get me wrong. I'm really enjoying the chance to make fun of it.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

AHA. sumi, Melina posted her list of cuts from the last two Torchwood episodes, and apparently something was cut:

5) DANCE HALL

Gwen's poking around and finding the card in the paint tin is cut. (You get the fact that she did in the next scene.)

GWEN: (on radio) Ianto? Yeah, it's me. I've found it. It's written in blood.

Looks like I need to watch the next season of Torchwood the same way, ahem, I did last season. I hate cuts.
